I have just received a Nokia 6210 hoping it would provide me with a GPS position fix whilst out walking in the countryside. I was disappointed to find that the position is provided in degrees latitude and longitude – not much help in locating my position on an OS map!
I consulted Google and ended up at the OS website where I found the question – “How do I set my handheld receiver so that the displayed coordinates are compatible with OS mapping?”
The answer is – “Your receiver will have a datum setting to change the coordinates inside the receiver to output OSGB36 National Grid coordinates. Your first point of contact should be your receiver manufacturer.”
So please Nokia can you help? Can something be downloaded to enable me to obtain the information I sometimes so urgently need when I miss a waymark and become lost???
