Down Under Music Store preview gets thumbs-up
By Mike on 21 April 2008
SYDNEY, Australia - The Nokia Music Store is plugged in and ready to be powered up for launch in Australia on Monday 22 April. The latest locally-focussed digital song shop to go live, this version was previewed earlier today and is being welcomed with open ears.
CNET Australia put up a piece, touching on the localized aspects of the new Music Store and its streaming service:
While, Australian IT posted a story highlighting the positive layout and navigation of the service:
“The site is busy enough to offer a lot of options but uncluttered enough to be simple to navigate.”
Do you think focussing on localized music content and live unlimited streaming is the way forward for digital music online?

I think local music is going to be a major key to the future of digital music. Local artists oftentimes have passionate fans who will rally around anyone who befriends the artist, and most local artists smartly avoid the ‘big’ labels, which the digital music aficionados know as the RIAA (not a positive connection, mind you).
I think it’s fantastic.

will be a nice place to find local bands that you love listening to but cant get downloads as most places you download only have the larger labels, so i think this will be awesome.
