Our Business
Welcome to the conversation
By the Team on 21 April 2008
ESPOO, Finland - Welcome to the Conversation. This one, though, is unlike any you’ll have seen before. It’s being written, presented and hosted by people in and around Nokia and pulls together all the conversations going on around the Nokia neighbourhood.
We hope you’ll take the time to stop by often, and stay in touch. Feel free to add a comment to any article that sparks your interest and let us know if you find one that doesn’t.
We want to do all we can to make this site as good as it can be. But we can’t act alone. We need you to comment on the stories and take part in the conversation. We want you to let us know if you’ve seen or heard a conversation going on, so we can let everyone else know. This site is about bringing everything together – not just from the inside out, but from the outside in. Together we can make it great.
You can keep on top of the conversation using one of our RSS feeds, catch up with us on one of our other social channels, and catch us on your phone too.
So, stick around, enjoy and stay in touch.

Nice to have Nokia’s “official blog”, after S60 blogs, WOM World, etc, now we can expect true words from Nokia’s people!

Just wanted to say that Nokia Conversations is live
It’s been a long slog, but the site is now as tweaked as it can get, so we removed the password protection and we’re off on a new journey. As with any site, we’ll be adding and removing things as

Nokia Welcomes You to the Conversation
Today Nokia Conversations has opened its doors to the public! As I mentioned last week, Nokia has introduced a new means of inviting consumers to the neighborhood. Although the team has been busy prior to the launch in getting content

Glad to see Nokia has launched this blog. I’m looking forward to reading it.
Right now, on my blog Contentious.com, I’m having a discussion with Nokia social media expert Charlie Schick about problems with the quality of service and support from Nokia USA — especially regarding your firmware updating process, which recently bricked my N95.
Here’s the conversation so far:

I look forward to continuing this conversation and working with Nokia to find solutions, since I think your N95 is a fabulous device that the US market badly needs. (If, of course, your service can be improved to warrant customer loyalty)
I hope you’ll address your US firmware and service issues directly in this blog.
Thanks,
- Amy Gahran

More on Amy’s Brick and Nokia Launches New Blog
Click To Play As you know, about three weeks ago, I took the Nokia N95 plunge and was as excited as my colleague, Amy Gahran, was. I feel in love with it – but the honeymoon is over … Amy

Glad to see that Nokia’s director of corporate communications, Mark Squires, was kind enough to leave a comment on my blog (contentious.com) with an initial response to the conversation over there about Nokia USA’s service problems.
I’ve responded to Mark — to emphasize that the problem is indeed not about Nokia’s product quality, but about service. I’m not sure Nokia really gets that yet — or how important that issue is if Nokia hopes to compete effectively against Apple for the US high-end phone market.
See: http://snurl.com/25h1e
It’s nice to see this blog. It’s a good start. But could Nokia please start addressing its obvious US service problems, rather than just post happy-news here? Your customers are waiting to see whether this blog is indeed about conversation, or lip service.
Thanks,
- Amy Gahran

You really need to let us post here, too. Or at least provide a discussion board for that purpose.
