Take part in the Earth Day Challenge

ORLANDO, USA – This seems to be the year for global film competitions, what with the Pangea Day competition we wrote about a few weeks back and now the Global Environmental Filmmaking Competition. Still, there’s good reason as this latest one is all about getting kids to share their views on the future of the planet.

Dubbed the Earth Day Challenge the competition will kick off on June 1 and ends on Earth Day 2009.

This week during the Global Youth Summit Nokia and The Pearson Foundation will be providing the tools that’ll “empower young people to create and promote environmental videos”. Nokia’s Mobile Learning
Institute will also be hosting a series of workshops demonstrating digital media. More than 20 workshops will be happening this summer across the United States.

more than 20,000 students and teachers inside and outside of the
classroom, connecting efforts through a commitment to the environment”

Videos created during the competition will be shared through a special
