Why not use the duplicate resources to work on a single service that can be integrated *or* used separately? So that the integration is an optional, value-added feature? I think it can cause some strong negative emotions, somewhat like your example of Nseries and non-Nseries handsets like the Eseries. Given that both use S60v3, some of the 'differences' between the two are fabricated, and therefore annoying to consumers who are interested in both sides.
