Nokia productions premiere

By James on 14 October 2008

This is just a quick heads up, as we’ve only just found out ourselves, but the premiere of Nokia Productions first ever social film will happen tonight at 8.45 PDT. The film will be playing live at the Nokia Plaza in LA and will be simulcast online at the Nokia Productions website.

The movie, which was shot entirely on mobiles is directed by movie maestro Spike Lee. In fact, Lee describes the process as the democratisation of film, and reckons that we could be watching movies shot on mobiles in theaters within five years.

Over the last six months Lee has been directing the movie, created through user contributions, into a finished work. Consisting of three parts, Lee offered guidance and direction through the Nokia Productions site during the production.

Right, best get the popcorn on.
