Whoops, we did it again…

By James on 15 October 2008

USA – Eagle-eyed Britney Spears fans amongst you will no doubt have noticed Nokia’s guest appearance in Britney’s much-anticipated comeback video, Womanizer.

The brand new 5800 XpressMusic is the guest device in what can only be described as a rather eye-catching music vid.

The idea for the integration came from Giles Pocock, Nokia’s man in the
music chair, and his team at GMR Entertainment. Giles takes up the
story

“We wanted to support the launch the new 5800 XpressMusic device in a
fun and irreverent way and couldn’t think of a better way to do this
than place it in the new and hugely anticipated Britney Spears video.”

The 5800 appears throughout the video, but it’s its first viewing
which, if you look closely, will give you the best laugh. With the
camera zooming in on the calendar, the entry for that day hits the
spirit of the thing, and offers a chuckle. Pocock explains

“The idea cam from Nokia and our agency working with the record label
video team and the Director to come up with the integration
scenario that would work for all parties.”

You’ll need to have a look for yourself to see if you can get it though. The result, it has to be said, is pretty stunning. And the phone doesn’t look too bad either.

No no no no… Hell No….

for god sake 5800 a not ru***sh. this is sooo un-cool guys. Now i don’t want the 5800 anymore.

If you make Axl Rose signature special series, i might think again.

FYI – the link to the Britney video on YouTube no longer works. The video was removed due to ‘a copyright claim’ by Sony. I guess I will have to try to watch it on MTV, old skool.

Either way, even though I am not a big fan of her work, getting the phone in the video is very cool. Nice job.
