Nokia 6700, Nokia 6303 and Nokia 2700 classics uncovered

ESPOO, Finland – The Nokia 6700, Nokia 6303 and Nokia 2700 classics have just been unveiled. This svelte trio of handsets are unabashedly pushing the performance ceiling on mid-range devices, yet it’s clear from their price tags that Nokia is keenly and crucially focussed on delivering top-end value at low cost.

We imagine many online tech pundits will rightly be shouting about the most feature-packed handset of the three, the Nokia 6700 classic with its GPS talents and 5-megapixel camera, and working down through the list of new arrivals towards the least feature-packed phone, the Nokia 2700 classic. But we think the real story and star of the bunch is indeed the 2700 classic. Here’s why…

The new Nokia 2700 classic is a 65 Euro phone (before taxes and subsidies). At 65 Euros, its a device that not only sets a clear benchmark for the lower end of the mid-range phone scene, but raises the bar in terms of what we should expect from handsets in this bracket – it’s a Series 40 device, featuring Mail on Ovi, Share on Ovi, Nokia Life Tools, MP3 player, FM radio, 2-megapixel camera, Bluetooth, MMS, Quadband calling, web browsing, memory card storage of up to 2GB, and up to 6 hours of talk time, with the added ingredient of being designed and built with premium materials and luxury styling. This approach and offering certainly feels significant and even more pertinent in the current economic climate, and immediately sparks flashbacks of the sentiments that Nokia’s cheapest ever phone, the Nokia 1202, created when it was first announced.

The 6303 classic comes in at 135 Euros (before taxes and subsidies), and again pushes things further with a 3.2-megapixel camera with MPEG-4 VGA at up to 15 fps and a dual LED flash, plus up to 7 hours talk-time, and comes with 1GB of storage in the box.

As for the Nokia 6700 classic, this is the leader of the trio with a 5-megapixel camera, GPS navigation with Nokia Maps and high-speed downloads via HSDPA connectivity, plus support for up to 8GB of memory. Entering the fray at just 235 Euros before taxes and subsidies.

I’m just a student that’s why i am surfing the net to avail of promos that can help me avail cheaper phones. My parents don’t have much money to buy me phone..since their main concern is my study.,but in school.. i really feel that I’m out of place since i don’t have a phone. chandra ji the nokia 6700 will be available in India very soon. Just HAVE SOME PATIENCE. The price is approximately 219 sterling pounds which is quite expensive for students to afford. I can tell you that the phone is amazing and has all the features a guy needs and more.

Hi,

I have seen both 6303 and 6700 models in Bangalore but the concerned stores were unable to tell me if these new handsets have light for the keypad as the pieces that I was shown did not have key-pad light.

It would be nice if someone could confirm it to me regarding the same.
