SINGAPORE, Asia – Singapore is the latest location to have its ears filled with unlimited music downloads courtesy of Comes With Music, debuting in Asia on the Nokia 5800, N96, N85, N79, 5320 and 5220 XpressMusic over the weekend.
Leaping from continent to continent, last week Comes With Music was announced for Australia with the Nokia 5800. But the Singaporean release sees five Comes With Music enabled handsets go on sale, including a couple of brand new colours. Read on to find out more.
The Nokia 5800 Comes With Music edition hit Singapore on Saturday, and was the first territory in the world to see the release of the red and blue versions of the touchscreen caller, with the silver-black version launching there in mid-March.
Good value was at the heart of what Vlasta Berka, General Manager for Nokia Singapore, Malaysia and Brunei, was keen to touch on when talking about the Comes With Music launch.
“We are very excited to bring this music offer to Singaporeans on so many device models to suit different consumer segments across various price points. Particularly in these trying economic times, Comes with Music delivers exceptional value to music lovers who can stay connected to the music they like, yet no longer worry about the cost of purchasing music by single tracks or album. The freedom and simplicity of the service is unparalleled. What’s more, the music is legal and is yours to keep.”

Do the CWM 5800’s have the faulty earpiece problem like most of the current 5800’s do? Or has the issue been resolved?

I think the service will go down well with the Singaporean public as there is currently an unsatisfied demand for a online music service that is affordable. Since Singapore is considered a small market compared to the other markets, companies do not usually launch these services in Singapore.
A reporter with the local newspaper also hailed the launch of CwM in the local scene: http://blogs.straitstimes.com/2009/2/27/music-for-free-finally
