Nokia 5730 XpressMusic comes with QWERTY keyboard
By Mike on 11 March 2009
GLOBAL – The new Nokia 5730 XpressMusic has refused to follow the predictable path, instead introducing a marvelous misfit element to the XpressMusic range courtesy of its slide-out full QWERTY keyboard. Combining the ultimate quick messaging interface with an avalanche of social, sharing and on-the-go entertainment services, it’s clear that Nokia threw out the cookie cutter when creating the new Nokia 5730 XpressMusic.
Read on to get the full lowdown on the Nokia 5730 XpressMusic, including details on it’s premium gaming credentials, its price tag and when it’s slated to ship.
The 5730 XpressMusic isn’t shy to shout about its socially savvy features, loaded with Facebook, Ovi Contacts, Photos, Maps and messaging apps. Alongside its social skills it’s fully N-Gage enabled, and features dedicated gaming keys for the best possible mobile thumb-mashing experience. Of course, music remains the lynchpin in the 5730 XpressMusic’s arsenal of abilities, enabling you to download tunes over-the-air via the Nokia Music Store.
All of these talents are neatly threaded together and made easily accessible on the Nokia 5730 XpressMusic via its new homescreen, which builds on the blueprint previously used by its 5800 and 5630 XpressMusic siblings.
It’s slated to ship in the third quarter of 2009 and will hit shelves for around 280 euros (before subsidies and taxes).

it is nice to see Nokia launching mid range devices for the market.for instance it is sad to see in all its devices similar “options” no innovations or ground-breaking technology development!!!! as compared to its direct competitors. I really luv usin’ nokia devices for their reliability , and good quality devices. but after using 3 Nseries devices it’s kinda boring to see similar not to say same options on board the new devices.
havin’ a qwerty on a device is a + i must admit as myself am looking for a new device preferably wit a qwerty keyboard…but not another N82 wit a qwerty it gonna be a wastage of money…
so please Nokia be more innovative and take some more risks in your future products…

PLEASE NOKIA READ THAT COM
you know i love nokia and i want them to be still the best so i’d like to ask you: if it’s an N-gage phone, WHY DIDN’T YOU MAKE A BIGGER SCREEN WITHOUT THAT LITTLE ALPHANUMERIC KEYBOARD unusefull cause cause there is a qwerty keyboard????
even if the tactile technology is not as good as a real keyboard, if you want to SELL many phones, you should have put a tactile screen (you a re in association with a big industry of capacitive screen i think, aren’t you? ) just to attract more client and whatever the price, we know that you got the quality so we could put the price too,
i didn’t like to say that but people will be attracted by the samsung A877 instead of your new n-gage device
PLEASE NOKIA READ THAT COM

There’s nothing new in this device! It clearly shows that Nokia is still way behind in touch, not able to catch up with its rivals on the short term. Why is the screen size so small and does the 5730 has two keypads? Also, there’s no quality matertial used in the 5730, E75 is much better in that respect.

@Ronald, touch is very expensive so i think there some no touch device in the market that some one cen buy them

Well, as you may have read, it’s a MID-RANGE mobile, so obviously its materials should be in-a-way worse than the E-75. In addition, it’s a music device NOT a business device, keep that in mind.

samsung make a lot tactile devices even if they aren’t efficacious and with a low price , nokia is in association with a touchscreen industry, why didn’t they benefit about there experience.
and even if the tactile is not efficacious it will attract some client but there is still the qwerty keypad and the directionnal key.

They’re attracting the teenagers, those who simply can’t afford those high-end mobiles that everyone brags about. Tactile will remain cheaper than touch, in fact, a tactile mobile phone with GPS/WiFi/3g connectivity may cost less than a touch phone that’s only able to call! (Not really, but you get my point!)

This phone was yesterday launched in Austria for *considerably* more than the 280 euros (before subsidies and taxes) you’re claiming in this article.
Remind me not to trust Nokia blog entries and press releases ever again.

I like touchscreen gadgets but tuch screen on a phone gets a bit anoying for me, i like my phones normal and solid. Ive currently have the nokia 5220 xpress music and i realy enjoy using this s40 musicc phone. I also had and thouroly enjoyed using the nokia n810 and all of its useful and practical features until its touchscreen unexpectedly decided to stop working after sixmonths. Now all i can do is sit and stare at it charging for or push buttons on the keybord for no apparent reasen, For me this phone will be perfect becuase its nokia and i lovw nokias and i really like the qrerty keyboard plus i can finaly upgrade to an s60 hand set. For me this will be like blending my 2 previous gadgets into one. I would also like to see nokia release a new internet table. I think istead they decided to put the time into creating the 5800 and n97.

This is my fav phone from nokia But I dont want to buy it
Reason: The T9 Keypad made the screen only 2.4
If they had removed the T9 keypad and made the screen at least 2.8
i would have bought it (My Dream phone)

we just bought two of these phones. i must say we are impressed by the function and usefullness of it.
the media player is perfect and it takes very good pictures.
i have read people complaining about the volume of the player but fair dinkum, if you need it louder get your hearing checked, you must be half deaf.
i have also read complaints about the picture quality, again fair dinkum, if you want studio quality go get a studio quality camera and throw your phone away, you don’t deserve it.
all in all we are very happy we bought them i give them a 10/10.
