Nokia 5800 Comes With Music launches in Mexico tomorrow

By Mike on 30 April 2009

MEXICO – Only yesterday we saw the Nokia 5800 Comes With Music shake its hips for the first time on Brazilian soil, and now it’s official that the 5800 Comes With Music offering is hitting Mexico tomorrow, May 1st, exclusively through Telcel.

Read on for first details of the 5800 and Nokia’s all-you-can-devour music download service as they prepare to march into Mexico tomorrow. Plus, find out where it will be available and how easy it will be for people to download tunes on the move all across Mexico thanks to Telcel’s widespread 3G coverage.

Getting hold of the 5800 Comes With Music promises to be a breeze, as it’ll be available via Nokia’s online store for Mexico, Telcel’s authorized customer centers and authorized distributors, as well as the Nokia flagship store at the Antara Shopping Mall.

Downloading songs whilst on the go should prove simple, as Patricia Hevia, Operations Director of Telcel’s Region 9, confirms:

“The Nokia 5800 XpressMusic takes advantage of Telcel’s 3G network, which today covers 149 cities and thousands of villages”

Francisco Lorenzo, Nokia Mexico Director, had this to say about tomorrow’s launch of the Nokia 5800 Comes With Music in Mexico:

“Users can simply find and discover all the music they want, without worrying about the price of each album or track. Simplicity and freedom of use are two of the leading features of this service, but most revolutionary of all is that users get to keep all their favorite music in their PC or Nokia device without worrying about the cost of each track.”

I’m mexican, survivor of the swine flu, that has more cases in the USA by the way.

And I got the Nokia 5800, great phone, the service is great, but I like to compress my music to m4a 64kbps in order to put as much music as possible in the memory, and comes with music doesn’t allows that, also I can’t burn the songs in CD’s (to remove the DRM)

Still a good service, great for parties, everybody believes I have the largest music collection in the world.

  1. Nokia stands by Comes with Music, launches the service in Mexico | GadgetFun.Net Says:

[...] Despite strong criticism coming its way from all corners of the internet, including ours, Nokia is standing shoulder to shoulder with Comes With Music. The company claims that it’s happy with the way the public has responded to the service, and cautions commenters to look at the global picture. As Dan pointed out the other day, the service is doing very well in Singapore and other parts of the far East. It’s apaprently never been Nokia’s strategy to push it very strongly in the UK. That hasn’t stopped the media jumping on it with blood in their eyes, though. In a wonderful display of bad timing, too, Nokia is launching Comes with Music in Mexico today. I imagine most news coverage is focusing on other matters. Mexicans will be able to pick up the Nokia 5800, though maybe not the Star Trek edition, from Nokia’s online store.
