The big difference between Europe’s mobile tech world and the web / tech world out of California is all the suits. I would love to go the Nokia World, but all imagery of the suits CREEP me out and make me want to keep the $2,500 in my pocket. The images of men in suits make it look like the finer details of accounting will be discussed in intricate detail.
Dear Mr. Selby, please take a tip from other execs in media, design, and multimedia positions and ditch the suit. You don’t have to wear a black turtleneck, but there are other cool options.
All jokes about suits v. design folk aside, I would love to go to the Nokia World 2009, but looking at it I am a bit bewildered.
The agenda seems to be geared towards the Carrier business folk track and the Symbian Developer track. Now that Nokia is pushing for an Open mobile space and more towards a concept of open source and the like, it would be great if there was a Design/Creative track as well.
