Nokia 7705 Twist launched Stateside on Verizon (photo gallery)

USA – Following the release of the 7205 Intrigue earlier this year, Nokia and Verizon have again teamed up to create the new Nokia 7705 Twist messaging mobile. The bite-size square appears on the messaging scene with a full QWERTY that fans out beneath the 2.4-inch QVGA screen. Read on to find out more about the new Nokia 7705 twist and get a close up look at it in our photo gallery.
The 7705 Twist has been tailored for easy and quick messaging on the move. Along with the full QWERTY keyboard, the Twist comes toting a customizable Contact Light Ring (yes, that jumbo button sat on the bottom right), letting you assign colours to identify calls and messages from folk in your contacts book. On the messaging front it also features threaded messages, as seen in the upcoming Nokia X3, to help you keep better track on active conversations. While email, IM, MMS and SMS are all ticked, the 7705 Twist is also blog-savvy, enabling you to communicate with the world via a simple ‘post to blogs’ feature that also can fire out your snaps and text to social network sites.
Outside of its circle of messaging talents the 7705 Twist comes with a 3.0 megapixel camera in tow, with autofocus, flash and self-timer – the flat-edged design lets you stand it on its end, meaning you can capture group shots using the timer to ensure you’re in them too.
Plus, it supports V CAST Video Streaming and Video on Demand, as well as VCAST Music with Rhapsody.
The Nokia 7705 Twist will go on sale online via www.verizonwireless.com on 13 September and in Verizon stores on 21 September for $99.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate with a new two-year customer agreement.

My favourite part is the coloured light. I have been a sucker for those since the T68i.
How many colours can it change to?
Also is that the flash AROUND the camera? If so, very nice. Although I don’t know if that’s going to be detrimental to photos.

yess. u can purchase this unique design phone at pretty much any verizon store in ur area.. or if u got to verizon.com and hit wireless then u go to phones.. scroll to the bottom and u will see it there for 100$ after mail in rebate.

surprisingly odd and i like it c”, interested to know about the dimensions and wiether Nokia will sell this one to the rest of the world with add ons like Surge.
with a design like this, Nokia can even add up a 3inches screen to the phone and yet will still comes out pocketable

Oh my word. Most everything happens for a reason. My phone got nicked yesterday, or even perhaps lost, but I don’t lose things, IT IS AWESOME. Nokia sooo Barocks. I am so glad my phone went missing. It was a Razor which I never really felt. To learn that it is ever so “cutting edge”, only makes me more stoked. This version will carry me, however I can’t wait for the next one. NOKIA 4 EVER. I also grace Nokia with getting me one of my best gigs ever overseas. Lovin It!!!

According to Nokia UK, it’s not going to be released in the UK (at least not in the near [or distant] future). Seems a bit weird as I read a review of it in the UK press a few weeks ago – go figure!
