GLOBAL – Get a picture of what life will be like five years from now with this look into the future video. Based on Nokia’s research and development, the video paints a picture of life in 2015. We mentioned in our earlier post some of the things you might expect to see when we expect the processing power of mobile devices to increase dramatically and always on super-fast internet access to make creating and sharing so much quicker and easier. Video after the jump.

It looks like exciting times are ahead.
Bringing people together, all within the cloud is a good idea.

Very interesting. Nokia intends on inventing the iPhone by 2015. Very cool indeed.

Yep, the future is in “The Cloud”…
But there’s a thing concerning me: Privacy.
I’m not an expert on this subject (infact, i’m not an expert on nothing beyond my daily work), but i know enough to be worried with the security risks that come with this solution.
Don’t get me wrong, i love this idea of “having your life on the palm of my hand”, but i do get worried that someone strager to me gets access to all my private data.
Nokia: In the future, try not only to advertise services, but also advertise security policies allied to them.

Nokia can start this cloud of data today by introducing more senors into the devices. What about more compasses, thermometers, and barometers that will add together to create a picture. Devices like the N900, which unfortunately lacks a compass, will help both people and companies to build networks to allow this future.

Thank you Nokia for sharing this. This is really amazing for the business community because we have a sense of direction, which is helpful.
Also, I will save this video and make a comparison in 5 years and see if you’re close or not.
Cheers and kudos for sharing!

Ok now, what Nokia is trying to do is sell you a phone that gonna spy and collect your private information and send it back to Nokia, then they will make even more money by selling this info to all the kinds of interested companies. Just imagine this! F**k that im gonna stay with my old non-cloud phone.

I remember a NOKIA Video from 1998, showing people watching TV on their mobilephone in the bus, in the garden, anywhere. Nobody could believe it, but it came true. So I think NOKIA will manage this as well!
The video must have been around 1998/1999. Was it only an internal video, I saw as an former employee, or was it public? NOKIA, can you check this video for us?
Greetings from Vienna,
roland

I think the most important changes come extra fast networks (4G) and flat rates that will integrate factly Internet and communications aspects of our lives.

what happens if someone hacks into your device/steal it. then they’d know EVERYTHING about you (e.g. where you usually take a jog)… security should be a important part of the device.
