Nokia X6 on sale this week
By JBC on 24 November 2009
GLOBAL – The Nokia X6 hits the shelves in Finland and the UK this week, with more countries to follow. The much anticipated Nokia X6, announced at Nokia World in September, is quite possibly the loveliest music device yet. With a whopping 35 hours of music playback, 32GB of onboard memory and Comes with Music, the X6 is a music lover’s dream.
The Nokia X6 also boasts a five megapixel camera and Carl Zeiss optics so you can capture cracking shots. The 3.2-inch widescreen display, with capacative touchscreen brings the front of this stunning-looking device to life.
Comes with Music now offers unlimited access to over 6 million tracks from the Nokia Music Store. Once you’re signed up you can download as much as you want, and benefit from bonus tracks and exclusive content.
The X6 will be available in the UK from this Friday and you can pick it up free from £35 per month or £25 per month if you trade in an N-Series handset. It’s available exclusively on the Orange network at Phones 4u. It’s also available to pre order now from the Nokia store for £449 SIM-free.

Sorry but too expensive. Should cost the same as teh 5800 at launch. This is nothing special in this device… Its just a new 5800. And new shouldn’t mean more expensive than the predecessor

Yeah, it’s probably an OK phone, but this does make me wonder is it really now so, that there’s basically the N900 and the rest of smarter Nokias offer more or less the same as the good old 5800? I think the X6 would be great if it was a little less red and blue (it’s just annoying) and less expensive. And with a promise that it would still be relevant in Nokias services and plans two years from now.

EU449 for yet ANOTHER Nokia model with the “ARM 11 434 MHz processor”???
That part of the equation simply boggles the mind? Can any Nokia representative put out a PR argument once and for all as to what warrants this weird devotion to stick to the same processor? It took until the current firmware revision for the 5800 to finally give sensible performance levels?Though I can probably point the quirks of the S60 R5 OS to fault some, the processor in question begs an even greater scrutiny?Even if you guys are so desperate to keep costs at bay, what’s so hard about at least forking out to Qualcomm MSM 7225 528 MHz processor instead for newer models?
I concur with toorop on the pricing. And by that I mean it has to reflect or compete to current 5800 average prices globally. It’s bad enough (and ironically equally a skin saver on your behalf) that the only N-series model to finally get to 2009 standard of an ARM Cortex A8 + PowerVR SGX combo are the N900 so much for the rest…

Looks like Nokia’s once again losing market due to stupid overpricing, £450, I can buy a decent netbook and phone for that.

You must understand that the Comes With Music service was included in the price offering, take that out and you’ll get less than 300Pound device.
Its actually the best deal I could get as a music lover who download legal files, unlimited music download for a year with a great device.
Unfortunately though, we don’t have the Comes With Music service in my country.

Spoke to Phones4U (UK) this am and they said that they don’t have the X6 and indication is that it maybe one month away.

Ha Ha, as if.
Here is my easy guide to the question “is this phone better than an iPhone”
Q: Does the new phone you are interested in have the word Nokia, or S60 5th Edition in the tittle?
A: No.
Simples.
