5. Week-round-upLONDON, England – Little did we think when we embarked on this adventure that we’d gather more than 72,000 votes for Design by Community. Thanks to your continued dedication – over 2,500 votes were received this week – Design by Community is much more than we could ever have hoped or expected. Now, it’s over to the designers to use the information you’ve submitted to inform what they suggest should be the three sketches you’ll have to vote on. We’re expecting to get the sketches back in the next couple of weeks, meanwhile, there’s still one whole weekend for you to submit your final votes for enhancements.

Tales of forlorn travelers getting stuck in distant outposts came thick and fast and the adventures of some had to be seen to be believed. I know one banker who, trying to get back from Bahrain, ended up buying a car in Madrid to drive back to the UK. Ovi-Music-UnlimitedPUNE, IndiaOvi Music Unlimited rolls out in India today, bringing 12 month’s worth of unlimited music downloads to anyone who purchases an Ovi Music Unlimited enabled device. Over four million tracks are on offer in India’s Ovi Music store with the vast majority made up of local language tracks. Inside-storyHELSINKI, Finland – A couple of weeks ago we caught up with Jussi Ruutu, the Research leader for the Energy and Power Management (EPM) team at the Nokia Research Center in Helsinki, to get his take on what makes a great concept device (watch his video vox pop). Working at the coal face of all things battery and power related, Jussi also talked to us about the challenges faced when innovating in this space whilst keeping one eye firmly fixed on the horizon.
