Stay in the loop

Published by Carita Koskinen on December 3, 2010

GLOBAL - Today, we want to recognise the annual United Nations’ International Day of Persons with Disabilities. This December 3rd event promotes a better understanding of disability issues with a focus on the rights of persons with disabilities. This is something really noteworthy as nearly one in five of the global population lives with some form of recognised disability, including those related to ageing.

Nokia has worked on accessibility concerns for over a decade. We already offer a multitude of accessibility features, accessories and applications. For people with hearing difficulties, Nokia has developed the Nokia Wireless Loopset (LPS-5). In the video, we meet Katja Vis, a Finn who uses this inductive loop for a mobile phone every day, and Mikko Haho, a man from Nokia behind this solution. Watch what kind of difference the Nokia wireless loopset makes in everyday life.

Find out more about Nokia’s efforts into making mobile phones accessible for all.

this neck loop is pretty good. I have had it for almost two years and it has a better microphone than the one I had (that broke).  This morning, I discovered, I left it in the rain outside the front door and I’m hoping it will dry out and work again.  But the sound, the mic and the reliability has been really good. I’ve had mine since early 2010. Thank you
