Nokia Drive and Nokia Music, with MirrorLink [video]

Published by Adam Fraser on October 28, 2011

LONDON, United Kingdom – In a world where convergence is important, imagine a time where you can connect your Nokia smartphone to your car and perform some of the tasks you can do on your phone, but on the car’s dashboard. With Nokia MirrorLink technology you can now do just that. Atsuhiro Takeda Product Manager at Alpine Electronics UK took us on a virtual journey on how Nokia Maps, Nokia Drive and Nokia Music can all be used, through your car – using a Nokia 701.

So, any chance of this kind of functionality coming to the Lumia range?

lol. without true multitasking, without proper customization features, without usb otg, without bluetooth file transfer, without mass storage and WITH an ugly tile UI do u still think wp is better than symbian belle?? go get a lyf

    jeez,

I’ve been on that road dude, and it’s a dead end. Stop talking about those dated features as if there weren’t any newer and better ways to do these stuff with the modern OSes.

  • Anonymous

oh they were dated feature?? Even newer androids added usb otg but still this crap cant get it??? How can you call wp as modern if it not even support proper blue tooth transfers. so smaart!!! Releasing a phone with 1.4 Ghz processors doesnt make an os moden. Currrnt windows phone’s stage is dated, it can only be compared with s60 os. accept the fact!!

Symbian stinks. Symbian is fugly, slow, buggy, laggy, crappy, unproductive and completely unusable shitty OS. On the other hand Windows Phone has the most GORGEOUS UI of them all Metro UI. WP7 is beautiful, elegant, gorgeous, fast, fluid, buttery smooth, feature-rich and the greatest smartphone OS of all time.

Because it’s specialized device that’s tightly controlled by the mirrorlink protocol.
Understand the protocol, and you’ll understand why…

No doubt there’ll android iterations soon enough…
But it won’t be like the android you know on smartphones/tablets.
    For good/common-sense reasons….
