Nokia World 2011 retail arch

LONDON,  United KingdomNokia Lumia 800 phones are shining at the UK’s top shopping mall, close to the Olympic stadium, where up to 750,000 people a week can get a hands-on with the stunning mobiles.

A headphone-shaped arch like the one unveiled at Nokia World 2011 has been installed at Westfield Stratford, which is a short walk from the Olympic park.

The innovative retail experience, which opened this week, will be seen by visitors from all over the world and is set for a global launch.

It is designed to allow shoppers to see, touch and play with the Nokia Lumia 800, ask questions about it, and then go to one of the nearby phone shops to buy it.

The new owners will then be free to go back to staff at the arch for help to transfer contacts and other media from their old phone.

The outside of the arch is a screen which carries information and advertising for products, making an eye-catching attraction for customers.

The Nokia Lumia 800 would be an ideal phone to use at sporting events because of its amazing camera and Maps software which will guide users to stadia.

“It’s a fun and chilled retail environment where our expert team will help customers get the most out of their new phone.”

Very intuitiave advertising guys, well done. On a side note wish you’s would start moderating these darn N9 comments on every post that has nothing to do with it.

Sure, why do Nokia needs to know what customers means. Nokia knows better right?

  • Kannanraji

The arch clearly shows n9 observe.

The N9 was present at Nokia World along with other devices. The newest Nokia Lumia range tok pride of place because it was the newest product to be launched. The Nokia arch will be used to showcase phones according to their relevance in particular regions. In this first case, in the UK, it will be devoted to the Lumia range of phones. The N9 would not be relevant because it is not released in the UK.

Symbian + N9 and other phones with NFC should put in use at those olympics. Yes Windows Phone does not support that but that’s what Nokia should be promoting more before Apple does it right.

    1st/Nov/2011Nokia kills the Nokia 600,

Nokia 600 was announced in August and was expected to hit the shelves before Q3 ended, but that obviously never happened. We got no official comment from Nokia about the delay and now it appears that the phone has been cancelled. All pages dedicated to the Belle-running Nokia 600 are now gone from the Nokia servers and even the Nokia developer website has no mention of it. Videos, featuring the Nokia 600 have been removed from the Nokia YouTube channels and if we hadn’t actually seen the announcement we’d really be inclined to believe that the phone never existed. We can’t figure out what happened in the past two months that lead to the cancellation of a smartphone that was just weeks away from actually hitting the shelves, but seeing how Nokia handles things we’ll probably never know…

The Nokia Arch is something awesome. The blueprint shows how cool each element is. Moving this “open space” to a retail point of view and building up walls arround with inkjet prints on and special one-way films on shop windows at the POS can make it even more attractive. Good job Nokia!
