I believe this is Dual SIM Dual Standby, which means there’s one transceiver. This is better because two use a lot more battery.

No, Nokia Just want to stay in emerging markets and still their phones are far behind in Dual SIM technology compared to Samsung and other companies.

Just because Nokia doesnt make phones on Andriod doesnt make they are behind in technology!

most people tends to use s40 phone as their spare phone when their iphone or n9 break down, s40 in this case need skype and wifi

Dual Active Mode is most essential features, while easy swap can be considered as advantage but not essential.

it’s very frustrating when I use one SIM for only internet (data) and other (which i use for calling) goes in offline mode for hours of time.

You can’t see the notifications (offers related information from operators) on home screen from the SIM 2. Also you can not use SIM 2 for connecting internet on PC.

This all are very  disappointing and shows that where Nokia stands.

The majority of our Series 40 phones are actually sold in developing markets, and most people in those markets don’t own smartphones. Having said that, the app selection for Series 40 is growing fast, and new apps are added all the time.

there were other android company such as huawei and motorola and viewsonic also a couple of local comapany that were only regionally well known such as ivio and nexian in indonesia, three more dual sim android in india, and also mexico…..(gggoooooleee for a full list… since link were moderated) that create DUAL SIM ANDROID PHONE for price around a mere 100 USD more. It’s not the best phone, since most using CPU from 600MHz up to 800MHz something and it’s only using Froyo.

But, by far, it’s still better than nokia ‘feature phone’ dual sim card offering. and the price of USD 100 and a bit more is VERY COMPETITIVE in emerging market, especially when a first timer wanna buy a smart phone (skype, browsing, email, youtube), with dual sim card capability… then nokia dual sim card is really a no-no.

Nevertheless, there were a market in dual sim smartphone, and i really hope nokia didn’t caught off guard…. especially if apple suddenly realize (and claiming to be the first innovative company to exploit dual sim card) that they can lock the first sim card, and let the second sim card be any card as long the first sim card were in the phone and active and on (for example, you can put T-Mo card or any card, as long as ATT card were on).

Can you set this phone up to do the following. Use one sim exclusively for data and another for voice calls and text.

I must say that nokia build quality is VERY GREAT and STRONG compared to other brand, especially unknown brand in the affordable phone area. But currently Nokia dual SIM phone is LACKING INNOVATIVE FEATURE for this market.

If Nokia really want to get the low-income, first timer, want multiple SIM but only can only afford one phone. Nokia need to know that the other unknown brand is better in term of feature.

There is one feature that drives the sale of this affordable dual (triple SIM and also quad SIM)…. namely ANALOG TV.

As a phone enthusiast, i often went to the market (there were buildings in Indonesia that host around 1000 phone seller, just like sky tower in Shen Zhen area), and I see WHAT really important for the developing market / emerging market first timer, low income want is an ANALOG TV, because that would be his/her THE ONLY personal TV.

And this dual/triple sim card with analog TV from other brand only cost a mere USD30+.

Nokia need to put analog tv in their ALMOST NO FEATURE dual sim card, and also make one with 3G, WIFI, smartOS (symbian/wp7) to combat the dual sim android phone.

C2-03 and C2-6 support for this feature and this phone is also running same software. So I think it must have this feature.

If Nokia adds those two important apps then no one will buy those costly wp7 phones LOL

This is typical Nokia – great tech at a great price but the really important points are just overlooked at times.

How do you get music onto the phone?

I would like to buy this phone for my dad but he isn’t going to go through all that hassle to put music on his phone. Apple just made it simple – Nokia needs to do the same thing or you will keep on hamstringing good phones you produce.

The phone was made before they ditched the naming. It would be a lot of waste of resources/materials if they’re going to modify the back cover and revise the sales packaging (boxes, stuff, etc.) just to change that freaking name.

while i agree not everyone needs android, and i know lots of old people who doesn’t want to learn new way to use their phone stick to nokia S40 platform….

NOKIA were LOOSSSINNGG new and firstimer that were educated (elementary school student), want an all-in-one devices (Phone, MP3 player, Game station) with affordable price. This is where the Android come in. Because with android phone they wouldn’t ask their parent for Nintendo DS, or PSP.

And it’s also the same as in Dual SIM phone. If the user were understand to browse the internet and love to play game, the dual sim Android is much more appalling than the S40 dual sim.

So, as Nokia lover…. I’m giving an advice here for nokia, for not loosing this market to android

If you buy a bit high end model, like symbian and meego, you can download music directly to the phone.

Unfortunately, AFAIK this Music store apps is not available in the S40…. correctly me if i’m wrong

I think just put a nice 640×480 screen of E6 and a nice little LED light on Asha 303 and that will be a nice S40 phone.

Great to see a Music centric phone from Nokia again. Am a big fan of the music centric phones before like the Xpressmusic days of Nokia. Any chance that a music centric phone will be released for like Symbian Belle? I believe the Nokia 600 was supposed to be the music centric Symbian but it was cancelled in favor of the 603 so yeah.. I miss having that forward play rewind key on my phone. hehe

es set Nokia X2-02 mein 1 prblm hai aur woh ye hai k agar es ki NOTIFICATION DETAILS off kar do to sms read ya send karty waqt restart ho jata hai.
agar es ki NOTIFICATION DETAILS ko on rehnay dein to ye koi b problm nai karta.  es k elava aur koi prblm nai hai es mein.
