Software update for Nokia Lumia 800

Have you guys forgotten the old Symbian Anna phones? Symbian Belle was announced before Lumia and it’s still not available for Anna.

Hmm….   So much care about Lumia’s and no indication for the users of the Symbian (N 97) , Series 40 (C2-03/06) , X1-01. Users of these devices always crying for the bugs but who cares? Let’s put your efforts where you found a pool of money.

Nokia has turned its back on the Symbian OS cause now belle is only coming in 2012. Keep it. I’ll get another phone brand.

Something is terribly wrong when a product needs to be fixed in just couple of weeks after launch.

Congratulations Nokia on a great start with Lumia. Finally its getting launched in india this saturday @ my city Kolkata. Well its common to wait for Nokia products for months and months remeber nokia N8 :) but  i ama amazed its only abt 1 month and lumia launch and availability is amazing man…. NOKIA is giving up all little bad habbits love u Nokia.

okay now Kriss FYI Nokia is very much on 2 million mark for lumia sales these devices are selling like hot cakes just wait for Mr Elop to come out with a great Q4 result fingers crossed ;) I am sure u can not keep a power house of talent that billions of people love out for long the dark clouds are gone and its all over Nokia again.

Nokia lumia is a clear winner u see it u fall in love with it its 100 % nokia , i am in love with it I love this phone and i see ppl  excited for it all over the web ppl are talkin positive no hate every one loves nokia lumia 800.

when u talk abt updates u can not catch all errors at one go somethings are ignored in controlled test environments which come out in real life cases and look how prpmptly Nokia came up with the updates. Its not bad issues can happen technology is no miracle but its about commitment integrity honesty to accept and the intent and sincerity to provide a remedy that makes a brand stand out and thats why we in india trust Nokai… Nokia never lies :)

Nokia has not given up symbian rather look at the innovation they did with it look at the NFC thing. However as the launched devices are all mid to low range so there are many compromises like the ones with camera as u pointed out. but belle is awesome

Nokia’s older symbian 3 devices like N8 E7 are being tested as they have different RAM and CPU spec compared to newer belle devices
Also isn’t it a good thing that NOKIA is doing software testing and required changes to give us a finished product that gives us great pleasure. plz understand that Nokia has many models and so newer updates need many tweaks so that they work with older devices.
And when we waited so long lets do it for a few more weeks and days as NOKIA has already said belle will come to older symbian 3 devices in 2011 first half i am assuming Q1 ;) (the source of info is my nokia blog.)

Question.. Will the update via Zune come to USA users who purchased the phone unlocked?

Correct me if I am wrong but windows live is a cloud based solution. Farely useless if I am in the middle of nowhere without an internet connection. If it is not a cloud based solution then nobody at Vodafone or Nokia ( after exhaustive questioning) told me that this may offer an answer. Too late anyway the phone has gone back.
Further to the above if a product is not immediately and intuitively useful then it is useless

I am still not getting this update and directly affected by issues fixed so would really want to get it? i have an unlocked phone bought from France but run it on an operator in Romania.
should i understand from these lines “will be rolled out in the countries where the phone has been made available” that i will NOT get the update at all :(

Could someone please explain the thinking behind the lights on the soft keys not working when the brightness is NOT set to automatic after the update? I  – like many others – want the brightest screen possible, but that means that the buttons are not illuminated at night!

Apart from that, the update went smoothly and fixed my battery info, though I didn’t really have a big problem with battery life before the update either…
