Something tells me the Nokia C6 is unlikely to get Nokia Belle; I assume you mean the Nokia C6-01…

it’s a good thing that nokia is answering back and keeping us informed on developments. at least there is something to look up to unlike before which is mainly based on rumors.

fuctionality and easy to use, not malware,estability, personalized..programer for more lenguage and framework , for the apps is very abstracts almost all importants app is aviable for all plataform..but nokia servive GPS maps and social is very powerfull. Pulse and all app gps functions

If Nokia Belle can be put in the new n8, c7 and c6-01 then it is fully ready to be released. This just means Nokia is purposely delaying the updates for old Symbian Anna phones.

No…Nokia want people to buy windows phone….At Honkong event in August were Nokia introduced 3 new belle phones….they clearly mentioned that existing symbian^3 phones would get Belle in Q4 2011

= What about Re-sizable widgets !?
- I noticed that the mail, and news feed (RSS) widget is too large in one homescreen (I do have at least 6 emails, will be an easier way to display them in one widget instead of one email per widget, which meany that I will need 3 homescreens only or emails! So having 6 homescreens wont help that much)
- Also the Digital clock is too large, and the music player as well
I would like to have resistible widgets, as I like to have multiple widgets per homescreen, I feel comfortable with Symbian Anna as it provides me with small size widgets compare to Nokia Belle

Currently, the connection to WiFi must be done manually each time I would like to use it. In Anna there is an option in Connectivity settings to use WiFi only, so is there any plan to have this setting on Belle?

= To arrange menu icons it takes less than 10 sec to automatically deactivates, in Anna user has to select Done, is there any plan to increase this time to 25-30 sec? Less than 10 sec is not that good specially when you to have a long list of apps!

This one I can take: we have not made any announcements about new SW updates, and we can’t comment on market rumours or speculation. Right now we need to concentrate on getting Belle ready for downloads!

I was eagerly waiting for belle to be released in Q4 2011 but Feb 2012 is very far.I am now happy because Vesa Jutila, Head of Symbian product in her lines told that they are progressing belle with a new experience. I am now waiting for the fully progressed belle.

Now you have the flexibility to use the name Nokia Belle??  Why would you want that? Why would you want to confuse even more, why would you call the operating system Nokia??? It is Symbian and nothing else.

I’m using Belle on my N8 right now .. it’s not that big of a difference, and it does not explain why you can release new Nokia N8′s with Symbian Belle, and not an update for existing once. 

There is no questions answered at all. Just a bunch of marketing speak trying to avoid actually giving out real answers to real questions.

Because the great CEO that receive award already say that Symbian is dead and no one want it now…. So, it must be re-branded?

well it would be good, if Nokia actually did respond and kept the users updated. Right now its just a bunch of non answers.  The is no real answer to why they started calling Symbian Belle for Nokia Belle .  just a bunch of words not explaining anything.

There is no explanation to why the release is now delayed 2 months.  just a bunch of marketing Bs that does not add up to what was said before. (and there is not that big of a difference, even if Belle is great and sure better then Anna)

There is no answer to why they constantly fail to mention the Symbian Belle update for Nokia 500.

The rumors exist because of the lack of information, and there is still no explication.  Just as there is no explanation still why Nokia Ovi Suite 3.0.0.290 supports Nokia N9, and Nokia Suite doesn’t (unless you do a workaround) 

When confronted with the statements (lies) about N9 not supporting syncing with a computer was untrue, they instead stopped responding at all.  or once in a while kept pushing Nokia Link .. that is of no use at all. 

To all those who are asking for immediate Belle after hearing that new Nokia’s will be shipped with Belle pre-installed, I’ve got a little explanation for you. It’s not a small bug-fix update but a major one. So company [Nokia] has to make sure that your data like apps,contacts,messages etc. get migrated to the new OS and that too successfully. And besides that even Symbian Anna is yet to hit all regions. And maybe Nokia doesn’t what to repeat this same thing again. So once everyone is at same level i.e. Anna it’d [Belle] be rolled out to each n every user at the same time.

Your very first answer,regarding name change from Symbian Belle to Nokia Belle created some questions in my mind. Belle is now officially Nokia OS for all phones, including some featurephones which run 1GHz processors? By ‘flexibility’ do you mean that even those 1GHz featurephones will also get Nokia Belle, since S40 is unable to use all that power? And please ellaborate on naming change, Symbian Belle->Nokia Belle? And how is it going to ‘dramatically’ affect the market, developers, carriers, end users/consumers? Please.

Não gostei do nome do OS Nokia Symbian esta pra mim e um nome atraente e é antigo como vou falar agora que eu tenho um OS Nokia vai confundir muita gente que ja acha que um celular nokia como o C3 que tem teclado QWERTY é um Smartphone

They announce the new strategy with windows Phone and 8 months later they release the Nokia Lumia 800.  Normally it takes at least18 months to develop a completely new device. 
The amazing Lumia 800 took 8 months, implementing a whole new OS.   but they cant test compability for an updated version of an existing OS? An update that has been under development for 14 months at least???

and now they need 2 months more, while they release same N8 hardware with this new update pre-installed?

Nokia (or Elop) said on Feb 11 they will ship 100 millions symbian devices and support them till 2016.
Now that Nokia Belle is the official OS, is this gonna be used more than 2016, because WP7 Lumia doesn’t sell, people don’t want Windows Phones?

You have answered all your questions yourself. I bet you had to wipe off all your data before installing that *leaked* Belle. And there were many app incompatibilities in Belle. Remember earlier leaked version had problem with apps like Opera Mini and many other Java apps. Windows Phone 7 and Symbian both have different architecture.And another thing, since Anna is not fully deployed yet they’d first want it to go on every device out there.

I’m still going to refer to it as EPOC32 even if everyone else is in denial.

All I want to know is whether the “calendar, agenda” homescreen widget (which has appeared in many of the leaked Belle videos) will be included in the Belle release version.  I mean the one which takes up half the homescreen and shows you the ‘agenda’ view rather than the “calendar, next item” widget which is next to useless.  Also, will this widget be available for the 700 wihich already has Belle but not this widget?  Come on Nokia, even my Psion Revo had an agenda view on the homescreen!

I think its a lot less confusing if Nokia products are called Nokia rather than something else. Symbian has always sounded like it might belong to another company. For a newcomer to really understand you’d have to call it Nokia Symbian Belle. So Nokia Belle is far simpler.

It’s classic Nokia. Announce Belle with all the fanfare in August 2011, but then don’t deliver until February 2012 (possibly longer?) That’s at least SIX months. Waaaay too long for most people’s patience. Those N9s sure are looking good these days…

Looking at the answers compared to the questions, I believe a bit less corporate-speak would have been appreciated by many, and could probably have been implemented quite easily.

If you asked the question: “Why has there been a delay?” and you received the answer:

“Nokia Belle will make such a big difference in the user experience, and it is a major software update. We are progressing well in bringing Belle with a new look and feel to millions people across the markets at the same time, and are anxiously looking forward to delighting our consumers with Nokia Belle.”

- would you honestly consider your question as having been answered to your satisfaction?

What would have been wrong with:”We want to take the extra time to make absolutely sure that this major upgrade goes smoothly for the millions of people who will install it on a variety of phone models across the globe, while respecting their user data, apps, themes and customizations to the widest extent possible?”

It’s like when we ask, – “why do you kill the beautiful Nokia 600 that we were waiting for?”

And Nokia answers: “At Nokia, we refine our portfolio to bring consumers the best possible range of devices to meet their diverse needs.”

Nokia 600 was the _best_possible_device_ for me. And I am a customer with more than 10 years experience with Nokia starting with 5110.

I agree with Marcus. The reply had nothing to do with the question. And what is so major about the update? It is not even close to the android updates and the android and iphone OS. In addition, what is the big deal and why is the delay? The Belle OS, if and when it is made available to the users of E7, N8, will be the same as the one on the Nokia 700. Adam’s reply is apparently a poor cover up to save face. It is a shame that Nokia cannot provide what they promise repeatedly.

why can’t Nokia update all phones with one OS that have
all languages, isn’t this easier than creating different edition for each
country, operator or even reseller.

My only advice is that people should allow nokia to do their work and do it well. so that they will not have any reason to give us if the new update fails to perform. Anna is a fantastic update and we are pleased with that. So lets allow them to do their finishing touches well. There’s no need to be in a haste since we all know that we will surely get the update one day.

Can someone from Nokia explain why the Nokia 500 has been left out in the first Nokia Belle announcement, Nokia Maps 3.08 update (and the beta Maps Suite), etc. although it runs Symbian Anna along with N8 and the rest?

 Nokia’s Symbian Anna has come to me as a great disappointment, with poor performance (seriously, freezing during an app installation?) and almost no updates for the phone’s firmware. There were extremely limited number of applications and the quality of the applications was astonishingly poor. (Compare eBuddy messenger designed for Symbian and Android & iOS)

 The phone’s hardware was sufficient to carry out basic tasks, but when compared to Samsung’s Galaxy S or Galaxy S II, it won’t turn out to be an attractive feature for existing and potential customers.

 What Nokia has to do at the moment, to improve their market share and overall brand value is:

- Improving hardware specifications to match the competition
- Optimizing the OS to give “new experience to everybody”
- Giving more incentives for developers to create more apps and improving their quality
- Improving compatibility with other brands’ products and Nokia’s products’
- Leave strong, positive image of Nokia and its products through impactful advertisements

 Nokia is losing its former glory to other companies, such as Apple that barged into this mobile phone industry, and Nokia should put maximum effort into rebuilding its former glory for the company, shareholder and the customers.

This delay, and the cynical PR noise trying justify it, are precisely why this C7 on my desk is the very last Nokia product I’ll ever buy – and I’ve been a loyal customer since 1998. Belle’s been ready since what, September 2011? A February 2012 release, after many false starts, is disrespectful to Nokia’s core, *existing* customers. You know, those of us who’ve actually *spent money* on a Nokia product. In my case, the buggy, barely useable Nokia C7 running Anna. 

It’s either Apple or Samsung for me from now on. And if you’re a Windows person, there are better places to get your Windows Phone from.

i have updated by nika x7 to belle.but i have a problem.how to check battery meter in belle.its easy in anna u jst touch bateery meter and it will show u how much battery is left.but in belle is there any provision for same
