Nokia Belle on Nokia 500 from today

GLOBAL - Nokia Belle will start to be rolled out to Nokia 500 owners today in most countries.

It will be released in phases, country by country as soon as each relevant variant of the latest Symbian software is available. So the schedule will vary according to where you live and which network operator you are with.

The majority of Belle enhancements will be available for the Nokia 500 including a visually
improved browser enabling high-quality Web video viewing.

Menus have been simplified and a notifications bar has been added to make accessing key settings or features, very fast. And a new larger live widgets display puts what’s really important to you on the homescreen.

This version of Belle has been specifically tailored to match Nokia 500’s hardware performance. You can personalize your Nokia 500 with up to four home screens leaving all your favourite applications and services only a few taps away. You will also get Nokia Maps version 3.06.

Get Nokia Belle on your Nokia 500 via Nokia Suite. For a step-by-step download tutorial, there’s a video available that tells you everything you need to know.

You can also see if Nokia Belle is available for your Nokia 500 by connecting your phone to Nokia Suite via USB. Software updates will be prompted to you.

    Thanks,but home screens are limited to just 4 which is a major disappointment.

    i download belle to my N8 and now some apps wont work. i was told by nokia to remove the apps then download it again but it still wont work. so DON’T UPGRADE TO BELLE. No wonder nokia is loosing market share.

       Of course some apps dont work. If there is a major upgrade to an OS, its bound to happen. When people move from Android 2.3 to 4, will all apps that worked on 2.3 work as is on 4??

         Symbian it is the best OS at backward compatibility, I developed an app for S60 3rd Edition and runs with no problem on Belle, so it is developer’s fault if the app does not run on newer version of OS! Android is the most fragmented OS in this regard!

      Memory constraints. The 500 uses more RAM for graphics processing than other current Symbian devices since it has no hardware GPU.

     I had update Nokia Belle in Nokia C7. Its great OS and added new features. Some widgets are small out like calender widgets which shows only one message. Music player and Digital colck widgets are very large in size. Others widgets are very good.

    Very beautiful OS! Could try out Nokia 700 with Symbian Belle just recently and was surprised how good it was :)

    I love it. Now my 500 has Nokia Belle. But it just has 4 home screen, it’s suppose to be 6? Also, there are no animation when the home screen is swipe and when the option & menu tapped. Not so many widgets preloaded like other phones. But the good news, it’s now running smoothly better than Symbian Anna. Not so many hanging problems. Also, it’s now supporting Angry Birds, Angry Birds Rio and coming soon Angry Birds Seasons. Thank you, Nokia. I appreciate that. :-)

      As far as I know, Nokia Belle on your 500 only supports 4 home screens. So don’t search for the 2 missing ones, they’re not there ;-)

    Updated my Nokia 500 with Belle few days back. Works great, am enjoying it. But the only issue am facing is the Ringtone. Whenever I receive any call, it only plays the nokia tune irrespective of the ringtone/profile I have set. Is anyone else facing the same issue? Can someone suggest what to do??

       hi sagar, just open the tone file u want in options>use tone>set as ringtone…. Simple…

      i am contacting nokia care also, they take the mobile and after one week they said it is repaired. still it is facing same problem what can i do???????

    after update to bell also it having lot of problems lke restarting, browser is very slow……

    i m totally satisfied wid nokia belle software updates. I  hav done the updates myself using my personal laptop. The many more changes and features are included in belle. the more shortcuts, high speed browsers. i cant explain. though i m using 32gb external memory n hav just 2gb free nw i m nt getting any problems. the battery back up iz also more in comparision to anna. thank you
