Nokia Music launches in the US

Nokia Music

Today, we’re delighted to announce that the Nokia Music service has launched for US customers.

American Lumia owners will be able to download the Nokia Music app from the Nokia Collection in the Marketplace. And it will come preloaded on Nokia Lumia 900 and 710 smartphones.

Of its many virtues, the best part of Nokia Music is undoubtedly Nokia Mix Radio: we’re enormous fans of the service here on Conversations and have written about it several times before.

Nokia Lumia 920 and Lumia 820

Our first Windows Phone 8 smartphones.

Be a part of it.

If you missed those posts, the killer features of Mix Radio are the ability to create playlists from your own tastes, or select from hundreds of specially curated mixes drawn from the Nokia Music collection of over 17 million tracks. What’s more, you can download these playlists over WiFi to listen to anywhere, without needing any further data connection.

You can catch all the action around Nokia Music on the @Music_Nokia Twitter channel.

I have only had Nokia headsets since Nokia 3395, and now rock the Nokia 808 PureView after retiring my beloved N8. So it’s highly Disappointing!!! to see Nokia, turn its back on its real loyal fans by not releasing Nokia Music for Symbian too in the U.S. :/
I do understand Nokia is putting ALL its eggs with windows, but dont forget us….sorry I have NO interest in windows; so I guess my 808 & N9 will have to last ;)

There’s rumors that Mix radio will be out for the 808 next Monday with the FP2 release. I’m praying because if not, and if the 3.5G issue is not resolved, I’m returning my 808 for a refund immediately and going Android from Sony. Sony makes good lenses. They can and will compete.

Look like all lumia in the U.S. will have Nokia Music.  YES,YES,YES,YES,YES,YES,YES!!!!

takes a few days to clear Marketplace, but try the trick of pushing any Nokia app in the collection and then “more from Nokia” and search that list.  I just downloaded the newest Batman app from there and it’s a cool app.

My Nokia 710 with Windows and Nokia Drive rules!!! although the camera could be better.

Wow. This is amazing stuff.  I’m not sure why everyone doesn’t have a Lumia in the US.  Seriously.

I’m hoping that it works with Zune Pass, meaning that I can download/buy the songs that I hear with Nokia Music in a seamless way.

I can’t wait to try it out.  I keep checking to see if it’s available, but no go as of yet.  I wonder if they are waiting to flip the switch in the morning during the event.  Hmmm….

If anyone has been successful downloading it, can you share the direct link?

When is this coming to Nokia Belle. Its all part of nokia and should be treated with the same priority and concern. Carrying all your eggs in one basket is proven to be stupid. if the basket breaks, you loose everything. Looks like Windows 8 got a leak. We hope it is able to hold its water or else ………
symbian sustained nokia till 2011 when the CEO decided to enter into fantasy and dream world.

I downloaded it, but all I can see is My Music and Settings. Nothing else.

What am I supposed to do? What am I missing?

Well I just put Nokia Music on my Lumia 900 and it is EPIC! It is like groove shark + pandora + iTunes + spotify in one! Time to re-do my start screen! This really is the best phone out there! I don’t even need to bring my laptop anywhere anymore!

Nokia seem to be having some trouble with the concept of “launch” which is usually synonymous with something actually being available — as demonstrated earlier this week with its WP8 phones and now this Nokia Music service, which does not seem to be available for my 710.

I have lumia 800 and its not within Nokia collection. But if you search in marketplace “Nokia music” then you will find it. Also you can download “app highlights” app and it has special love for Nokia specific apps. I have been using this app for quite some time as I had flashed my phone with Australian ROM. When it got launched in US, I deleted the Australian version to get US version to try out and see the differences. I believe they are pretty close and maybe US version is more refined.
Symbian users, please don’t spill your poision against Nokia, try to understand the company. I think they have always provided better support for their products better than any OEMs. Symbian users had Nokia maps, Nokia drive, even Nokia music way before it was ported to windows phones. They have limited number of waitresses compared to number of diners so you got to be patient.
I am neither a Nokia employee nor a cheerleader. I have used Nokia phones, then Motorola, LG, Samsung, and an iPod, finally back to Nokia. I am very content with my lumia even when I had no Nokia music app. But its good to see how much effort they are putting how to keep their customers happy.
