Nokia World 2012 has come to an end and we saw some great announcements. New Lumia devices, innovations in PureView technology and Nokia Maps with augmented reality. But let’s not forget about the app; that little thing you load up when you’ve got some downtime or need to get productive while on-the-move.

With Windows Phone Marketplace now offering more than 100,000 apps/games (and counting), it’s really no surprise that other partners want to join in this rapidly growing ecosystem. These will be coming to Nokia Lumia smartphones – including the Nokia Lumia 820 and Nokia Lumia 920 – shortly:

Are all these apps for WP8 Lumias only? Or will they work with current handsets as well?

    • http://twitter.com/counterblow the person

WP8…can you feel the abandonment yet?

    • Klas Lilja

Well the groupon app works on wp7.5

      • Matthew

People still use Groupon? Never found any deals that great from Groupon.

  • sranzha

    • gullygod

yes. This blog is poor formatted.

  • http://twitter.com/dani2xll Dani

Also interested to know if these apps will be tied to WP8 only though I cannot see why they can’t come to the Lumia 800.

  • gullygod

The addition and upgrade are a welcomed addition to WP. However, I wished Nokia branded “tune-in” radio with recording feature made the list.

There is an app in the Marketplace that I think Nokia should acquire. The name of the app is ‘Radio Hub’ which launched in 2011 and has never been updated.

  • guesttt999

Nokia, thank you very much for getting all these apps to the Windows Phone platform. Bloomberg is huge for financial corporations just as newer versions of Angry Birds is for consumers! Thanks!

Hopefully improvements will also be applied for the current line of Lumia phones. Whatsapp is quite an abomination on the Lumia 800.

    • Daniel

    • dreni

      lol

  • http://twitter.com/dalydose Jeff Daly

InstaGrime has already been confirmed by The Verge, so all of you who want in on the end of a fad will be happy for a short time.

  • http://twitter.com/dalydose Jeff Daly

I hope the Vimeo app allows for at least some basic video editing. I read with anticipation when that section said “Become a movie maker”. I don’t need MUCH on my phone in this area, but it would be awesome to be able to do the following:

    1. Make video slideshows out of still pictures.
    2. Trim clips at the front or back
    3. Record voiceover over a video
    4. Combine two or more clips into a movie
    5. Change brightness and color saturation
    6. Add titles and in-clip text

If I had JUST THOSE, I’d be happy with video on my phone.

    Pls add these two features like equalizer, multiple selection for playlist creation to existing Music Player(in Nokia Music) for WP 7.xx Lumias; the default Music Player in WP is terrible;
Also, if possible pls make sendiT app (using WP 7.xx bluetooth) for sending files as my 600$ phone cant send files over bluetooth whereas all phones have same features)..

    A request.

Your wish has been fulfilled…Nokia is gonna release an update to send and receive media files to any phone over bluetooth…update for Win Phone 7.xx…so enjoy in a few days…

Back a few years ago when the Operating system was not a big of a deal I would be ok with a Lumia. But we are living in a different times. It’s about time for Nokia to remember that very expensive phones cannot be changed every year. Only crazy fanatics will do that. At least a phone should have support for 2 years.

    • hansu_sthlm

tell me one phone nokia hasnt been supported for 2-5 years, i had a update this year for my n900, and 5800, and n8

      • Tsetso

Nokia 6630 and N95 hasnt been updated !
And 6630 was their flagship for almost year and a half !

        • hansu_sthlm

          n95 have like 7-8 updates
and 6630 have had 8 updates
i just checked navifirm and all the updates are shown there and can download and install
          check your facts

        • xsacha

          6630? From 2004?

It was released with firmware 3.45.11.3 in 2004 and the last firmware it got was 6.3.8 in 2006. That’s two years.

Dear Nokia the new lumia 920 is a great phone but you need to make the voice commands built in the device not a second party app. We don’t need that enhancements tomorrow but NOW. And make it easier for consumers to order this device in your own website and dont make us wait. I can order an iphone with just one click.

  • Zenoax

I hope that windows phone 8 has a sketchbook mobile app or any decent drawing apps :) anyone know, if its in the works?

Can Nokia share some insight on what happen to the Viber app with HD-voice calling to Nokia Lumia devices.
It is suppose to have been released on the 11 September, but till today it has still not been published onto the Windows Phone Store.
Trying to get an answer out from Viber is almost non-existance all all they give is the same old crap.

_When they designed the Lumia 710, they forgot about
allowing CUSTOM Alert Tones for Text Messages.
Now, users are stuck with a bunch of worthless
factory-programmed Text Message tones which aren’t
ear-catching. ` There is no individual volume for Alert
Tones, either. ` So, if you turn up the volume…just to
hear the Alert Tones, the Lumia 710′s Ringtones
become wayy too LOUD. ` Poorly designed phone._

  • frustrated_lumia_user

Idiots @ Nokia – first at least build a basic app that can help transfer contents ( SMS, Texts, Notes, etc ) from an Iphone or Android phone to Lumia
