The Windows Phone Store now has over 120,000 apps ranging from photo apps to those that help you stay in touch with friends across the globe. Simply put, there are apps for all uses and all Lumia owners.

In fact, of the top 50 apps available for iPhone and Android, 46 of them are available for your Nokia Lumia.

If you’re considering a switch to Nokia Lumia (or just bought one), you might be wondering what apps are available that match up with your old phone. Well, App #Switch is here to show you the way. 

The site, created by Xyo, is available now and serves a simple purpose: it allows Android and iPhone owners to select their current phone and current country and type in their favorite app. Then, the site gives suggestions on replacement apps for the source application, complete with QR Codes for easy install on your new Nokia Lumia.

The site is currently available for prior owners of Android and iPhone and is localized to 15 countries.  Give the site a whirl and spread the word to others who are planning to #Switch to Lumia and upgrading their smartphone experience.

      there is Metrogram, it allows you to like, view and comment on photos. Still no upload but hopefully Instagram will launch a WP8 version very soon.

        There aren’t any notifications on Metrogram. None of the Instagram clients have notifications.

      Why does anyone want that program? Not having it on Windows Phone is actually a great selling point.

        Just because you and I don’t use or like it, doesn’t make it a selling feature to pretty much anyone between 12-30…

          Exactly. I use it, I get others don’t and thats fine. i switched to WP a long time ago (4 phones) and I’m staying. I love my L920, as I did my L900, L800, and Focus. But I would love to not have to load photos to Skydrive and then pull them down on my tablet to upload to Instagram…I understand people don’t get Instagram, nor did I until I started using it. I am very much into modifying cars, and its a way for me and friends I have made all around the country to post photos of cars without blowing up everyone’s news feed on FB…

    still no citibank usa, no tdameritrade, no zynga poker, no fidelity investments, no American express, no waze.

      Waze isn’t necessary. Nokia Drive+ is better.

      just look up poker in the marketplace and there’s almost an exact replica of zynga poker there

    I am still missing rSAP (remote SIM access) profile within the Lumia series. I am using it on Symbian since years – it could really be another differenciator for Nokia (Lumia)

      Provided the hands free system you are using supports proper bluetooth handsfree, remote SIM works like a charm on my car even under WP7. It will ask you for permission on pair.

    Gmail works a charm on the default Email app.

    For Youtube: MetroTube, SuperTube, etc

    For Camera360, Hipstamatic or Camera+: Creative Studio available exclusively for Lumia, thanks Nokia ;) Pictures Lab (very good one), Thumba Photo Editor, etc

    For Maps: Nokia Maps (unbeatable), Bing Maps

    There are lots of other alternatives in the Windows Phone Market for pretty much everything.

      It does in fact have espn fantasy basketball, my ATT, and angry birds star wars. Both Pandora and instagram have pretty good 3rd party apps though I’m told the instagram app is missing a critical feature. Logmein and Citibank both have plans to make WP8 apps from what I understand.

      A quick search showed that there IS a myATT app and also Angry Birds Star Wars. Things missing on the iDevices were live updates without having to enter into the apps themselves. Android has some of this IF there is a widget. Also WPs have Xbox games and features that the other two do not have. I like my WP and tablet and I accept you like your device. They can ALL exist because every user is not YOU. To each his (her) own.

      Angry Birds Roost is available FREE in the Nokia Collection of the Windows Market Store.

        Angry birds roost is not a game. WP8 has angry birds, ab star wars and ab space. No seasons or Rio yet. Really would like seasons!

      All of the angry birds series is on WP except the seasonal ones. Ive got Space and Star Wars.

        Agree. I installed the Facebook app thinking it’d be good, but I’m using the “me” tile thing so much more than the official app.

        If it’s not on your tiles or you removed it, open your contacts, then go to the “ALL” page. It’ll show your contact info and icon. Click your icon and it’ll take you to a “me” page, which is your contact info. Click on the bottom to “pin” it and it’ll be on your tiles. the tile notifies you of Facebook alerts, also clicking on it takes you to a really clean and super fast interface where you can post status updates, check in to places, read all your messages and notices, and more. plus it’s integrated with Hotmail and other accounts all right there.

          I agree… the me tile is far more useful than that buggy facebook app! Have u notice that sometimes when you want to comment a photo, for example, sometimes the comments below are not pic but they should be on the next one?

    What a load of rubbish. Try searching for Ancestry app and you get results like HD Sexy Babes? North Pole? SwimMeet?
    This is more like a random app list generator than a app match maker

        exactly my point, there are plenty of good apps which does the same thing: fhotoroom, pictures lab, thumba, just to mention a few. And all of them share to Facebook like Instagram.

    The problem is not about availability, but QUALITY. Skype and Whatsapp, just to mention two of them, are in practice two pieces of junk on Windows Phone. They are useless, so even if they are available whoever needs them should better choose another phone / another operating system

      Yeah we might have all of them, but at what cost? Them freezing and crashing on us all the time, and don’t forget the massive lag and other problems.

      No thanks, I’ll stick to my WP I’ve been completely happy after switching from Android.
