Nokia Music review + a Nokia Lumia 820 unboxing

Nokia Lumia 920 photo

Several photos and videos have caught my attention this week, and it’s only fair that I share them with you, our loyal community. There’s photos like the one above from Olivier that simply capture all that is possible with the camera of the Lumia 920. Simply stunning.

Next up, a look at Nokia Music from Sam or as he puts it; ‘a rundown of everything you can do within Nokia Music’. And he’s right, it is! From playlists – the fact that these are already loaded is ‘cool’ – to making music available offline when travelling for ‘zero cost’. Sam gives a great, detailed look at everything that is available, including making your own playlist – in his own words it’s a ‘great way to discover new music’. Is it any good? The ‘honest answer is yes’.

An excellent guide, I’m sure you’ll agree.

We haven’t featured one for a while on this page, so I thought it was about time we had an unboxing video. Nirave’s look at the Lumia 820 is short, sweet and to the point:

For fans of the next stage on from the unboxing, Nirave has obliged with his first impressions of the phone.

The guys right about the mixes on Nokia Music which I have on my 820 they are excellent but with one fault – you put in an artist say “Thievery Corporation” like I did but 25 songs into the mix and still not one track from “Thievery Corporation” and the reason I chose to mix on them was because I wanted to listen to them – very odd.

What is worse is that playing your own music is terrible – it will either play one track and stop or randomly decide to play another artist. If you load up your own playlist it hates playing it, always forgets that it was playing a playlist when you have to stop the music for a bit or switch off the phone – very bad

So Mixes mostly great but my music awful – which is a major disappointment

On the 820 I so want to love it and I do love WP8 and Nokia but there are niggles – The Camera button only works when it feels like it and there are horrible smudges on the screen – wipe them off and they go but 10 minutes later they are back

Sorry Nokia I love the phone but its not right
