As part of our efforts for Social Media Week here in New York City, Nokia sponsored and took part in the 1197 Photo Walk that took place on Sunday, February 17.

The 1197 Photo Conference is named after June 11, 1997, when the first mobile phone camera captured the world’s first photo, starting a movement that rages today.

During the photowalk, mobile photo warriors explored around Manhattan, armed with Lumia 920s and Nokia 808 PureViews to capture the city scenes.

The following gallery is a sample of the photos taken on Sunday. It’s fantastic to see the world through mobile photographers’ eyes!
