The Nokia Lumia 720 might only have been launched yesterday, but already there’s a ton of info available online about this mid range masterpiece. In fact, if you do a web search for it you’ll get over 15 million results. So, to help you cut to the chase, here’s ten key facts every Nokia Lumia 720 lover should know.

 1. Weighing just 128 grams, it’s super sleek and combines a high-end uni-body design with our biggest 2000mAh battery and curved 4.3” super sensitive Clear Black Display.

 2. It has an innovative HD 1.3MP wide angle front facing camera, 6.7 MP rear camera with high end f/1.9 aperture and Carl Zeiss optics, giving it the best camera experience of any mid range smartphone.

3. It can capture stunning images both day and night with a wide variety of unique Lumia apps. You can get the perfect profile picture with Glam Me, make your snaps stand out on Facebook with Smartshoot and Creative Studio, plus animate your memories with Cinemagraph.

 4. It includes Nokia Music, a free and unlimited music streaming service, which allows you to enjoy the latest tracks or create your own channels based on the artists you love. All this without the hassles of sign ups, sign ins or adverts.

 5. It also features Nokia Live Sight. This unique app instantly transforms the Nokia Lumia 720 into an augmented-reality viewport, displaying nearby points of interest as floating icons with distances on the camera’s display.

 6. With the Nokia Lumia 720, you also get free Maps at home and abroad, plus free turn-by-turn voice-guided navigation with Nokia Drive at home. Also available offline.

 7. The Nokia Lumia 720 also carries on the Lumia tradition of using NFC. All it takes is one tap to connect and listen to your favourite tunes using Nokia wireless accessories, such as the JBL PlayUp Speaker and Purity by Monster Headphones.

 8. With Windows Phone 8’s People Hub, you can pull together contact information from multiple address books and social networks into a single contact database, making it easy to start conversations, see posts, tweets and photos from friends, and even set up groups and private rooms for sharing.

9.The Nokia Lumia 720’s Live Tiles constantly update in real time on your Start screen, to show you what’s new and what’s now.

 10. Microsoft software like Microsoft Office, Xbox Live, SkyDrive cloud storage and Internet Explorer 10 means the Nokia Lumia 720 is ideal for work, play, sharing and surfing.

With so much fantasticness on offer, it’s amazing the Nokia Lumia 720 costs just €249. Nonetheless, that’s the price tag. We love everything about it, but what do you think makes the Nokia Lumia 720 so special?

You guys are the Da Vinci’s and Picasso’s of the mobile industry. Freaking artists!! This phone looks way better than many current high end phones. Plus, the features are just too awesome for a phone in the mid range category.

I like the phone, don’t like the price! Try make them more affordable, below 100E

U have the Nokia 301 Rade, yours for 70 euros !

  • kunal

would have gone for this phone if it had removable battery. As sometimes if the phone goes dead it is not possible to start without removing the battery with my lumia 710

  • Tyler Shouse

    wow it looks so sleek!

  • Harold Gardner

The phone seems to be really well done.

  • http://www.facebook.com/MarkAReynolds Mark Reynolds

Great to see the Nokia Lumia Windows Phone range expanded across different price points – all giving great value for money. It’s a platform I for one would really like to see grow and grow.

  • Prodigy1

OK. This is really starting to bother me. Why isn’t Nokia advertising the Rich Recording (HAAC microphones) at all?
Almost every new Lumia-phone does sound recording like no other phone (including competitors’ flagships) and you are not telling it to anybody? If possible, please try to change this. It is as big improvement in sound recording as PureView is in imaging.

    Thank you for listening.

PS. Please utilize your R&D materials in marketing (white paper, rich recording)

    • http://www.facebook.com/joel.willans Joel Willans

Totally hear what you’re saying Prodigy1. I did a post on Rich Recording a while back, and it really is awesome. But it has got a bit lost amongst all the other awesome Lumia features. However, I have you’ll be pleased to hear I have another Rich Recording post coming out soon, so watch this space!

      • Prodigy1

        Great! Thank you in advance!

    • Nokiafan

Hey, even I have read about Nokia’s HAAC recording technology, it’s just brilliant, and technologies such are not found in other competitive phones, please Nokia, let people know about your innovations, so that people will switch to Nokia rather than falling in love with the thieves, who steal things and then get sued for that. This will help… Let your innovations reach out to people… Advertise why Nokia has been different, and why it will be always…

  • Ed

the first time I saw this phone yesterday, I already fell in love with this one. I am planning to have a new phone that don’t cost too much. (I currently have Nokia N95 as my current phone a 5MP shooter and it has Great Macro Shots) I think this phone is like the Lumia 920 both can capture great pictures in low light only theOIS is missing with this one. Maybe this phone will be my next Nokia Smartphone. =)

My Internet radio already has streaming with no ads. It does package many features that are in demand though

    • Nani

First start using the Nokia Music, then you wont regret to say it is far better than what you got

  • http://richardmclaughlin.biz/ McLaughlin

remember when we all had the Nokia 6110 and the color choice was black, blue or dark grey :)

I am hoping this device will bring the Microsoft OS back to corporate America. Today I only deploy iPhone and a few Droid. Need that third option.

  • Anel

Well it seems Nokia came a long way from where it was ( especially by dispatching symbian) but offering such a good smartphone with so many qualities is just of the top. Congrats :)

  • http://twitter.com/Flulz Hugo Massing

    259€??? That’s not 359€??

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1044297231 Atul Malhotra

But too much similar to 820, unfair to us 820 owners. they pay less and gets the same ;(

  • Carl

Please launch this phone in india soon…dont understand why nokia launches phones months ago and it becomes available so late especially in indian market..which is biggest loyal consumer base of nokia for years…cant wait to get my hands on it…

  • http://twitter.com/RimoftheWorld Lake Arrowhead

Tunes and maps along with an outstanding carmera equals awesome!

  • Tom Mack

The Lumia 720 looks great and they call it their mid range – what a VALUE!

  • http://twitter.com/cnewsome9 Carlos Newsome

A lot cool features. Sounds like a winner.

  • http://twitter.com/USAFA_93 Christopher Sandys

I’ve had forays into Apple, Android, and now the Lumia. I’m not employed by any these companies, and I have no financial interest in saying: I prefer the Lumia.

No doubt a large part of preference stems from my adherence to the PC platform over the Apple. I’m the guy that changes my own transmission instead of taking it to the mechanic, and I’m the same way with computers/phones. Lumia integrates so nicely with Windows.

  • http://twitter.com/GeekyNerdJC Jeremy Clark

Really sounds like a great phone.

  • http://www.facebook.com/angus.whitton1 Angus Whitton

I think that the price and the use of Windows 8 makes it stand out!

  • terrinakamura

Thanks for distilling this down to 10 points. I’m sure there are many more, but you’ve chosen some good ones!

I think you’ve finally combined a high quality video camera and a phone- I congratulate you. For those of us trying to create a higher end experience, does it have an external microphone jack?

  • Nelson Fernandez

  • erfanullah

    Is its speaker loud?

  • http://www.facebook.com/arnab.naruto Arnab Sarkar

This phone looks awesome!!!!I am eager to buy this phone…but I have a little doubt…Will you please clarify??

Will Lumia 720 get next Windows update like Windows 9/Blue or something with ONLY 512 MB RAM..

    • Bhagirath Bhargav Reddy

yes definitly…all phones which are running with windows phne 8 are eligible to get the update..the only reason is windows phne 7 is built on windows ce architechture…while windows phone 8 is built usin windows nt architecture

  • ajinkya

ONLY 512 MB RAM……i dont like lumia 720..when i will buy lumia 1 gb ram..

    • Rajkumar Murmu

Lumia with 512 MB RAM is way faster and handles multiple apps more efficiently than an android with 1 GB RAM! Practical experience!

  • Rajkumar Murmu

Forgot to mention the Gorilla Glass?

  • Dwayne Rooney Fernandes

If it had 1 gb ram.this would be the phone to beat.the design is just wow

  • Ratnesh

How to install theam in lumia 720????

  • Anto Anand Gopurathingal

but the app section is weak.
the game section is very poor. even the usual ones like subway surf are absent from the store. the only game nokia can boast on 720 is the NFS.

  • Bhagirath Bhargav Reddy

once all used to say…..symbian means nokia ,and nokia means symbian,…nw ……everyone is saying….nokia lumia means windows phone, windows phone means lumia….
    nokia is always the beat………

  • Gyanendra Rana

but y only 512MB RAM?? seeing nw days heavy apps u atleast need 1
    GB of RAM..
