2InstaWithLove

Published by Paul Coombes on March 6, 2013

We’ve been listening, and we know you all love Instagram. The only way for us to show how much the Nokia community really care about bringing this world class app to Windows Phone, is by having a little fun and showing Instagram just how passionate you all are.

 #toinstawithlove

So on Monday the 4th March 2013, a preview of #2InstaWithLove app was released on the Windows Phone market place. The app allows Windows Phone users to have their voice heard so that instead of letters, chocolates, mix tapes or petitions (although very effective in some cases), the community can speak directly to Instagram and the Instagram community in a way they can respect…through the use of beautiful photography.

The app allows you to take photos, add a classic Polaroid filter to them and post them to your social networks with the hashtag #2InstaWithLove.

So to get involved and download the app here or use the QR code below!

Wouldn’t make a difference I don’t think. There are a few third party apps which you can take pictures, filter them and post them on social networking apps already so how will #2InstaWithLove be different? Instagram are already aware of this and its market

  • abdhoms

I love Nokia. Keep up the great work guys.

    • Darren Mozo

is this an app that link to instagram? or a wholy new app just like instagram? cause, i think it made no difference if it was the latter. -.- i want a lumia. but many prioritize insta for photo social.

      • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000465946348 Tylor Lavoie

It’s an app to convince Instagram to make an app.

  • Mindi B

This is a great initiative, but it’s not going to work. MS need to start getting proactive with WP and engagement with Instagram to get this project moving. MS are NOT taking WP seriously enough, PERIOD.

    • http://twitter.com/bitcrazed Richard Turner

      SRSLY?
Do you have ANY idea how many free tools & resources, and free training, advice & consulting services Microsoft offers around Windows Phone & Windows 8?
The onus here is entirely on Instagram. Thanks Nokia for adding ammo’ to this campaign.

      • Mindi B

And do you have any at just how badly MS are doing with their strategy of their own mobile platform? Obviously not.

Photosynth – massive delays, yet gets updates on IOS first. Only recently has it finally gone gold for WP8. Attrocious! MS should be putting WP releases first and getting patriotic about their OWN mobile platform.

The Live Tile Blunder on WP7.8 – which is close to the most important feature for that release! Hello, beta testing anyone?

The marketing is still absolutely SHOCKING. Nokia is doing a great job, and they are the ones behind the Instagram push, not MS. Nokia is doing more to prop up WP than MS is!

WP8 STILL lacks basic features like custom SMS tones and separate volume levels! These complaints have been around since WP7 first came out!

On top of all this, the carriers have too much power in regards to the update cycles. This needs to be remedied!

Free tools and training are NOT enough. Not when WP has a history like it does, not when WP7 came so late to the market, not with the NoDo fiasco. They need to be AGGRESSIVE in this market space to succeed, and it is not happening!

Featuresets, marketing, app prioritisation – ALL require an aggressive approach if WP is to increase market share!

NONE of this is being treated seriously enough!

Instagram serves only one purpose, to camouflage the low quality pictures most of the phones produce. My N8 doesn’t need Instagram. It has a big sensor and quality optics and takes wonderful pictures. No need to destroy them with those filters. The Lumias on the other hand probably need it.

What you and we need is not Instagram. It’s a phone with a camera at least as good as that of the N8. Please, release such a phone as soon as possible.

    • http://twitter.com/NokiaKnowings Kevin Everett

It’s not about the filters…It’s a whole different social network. Most ppl who have instagram no longer share there pics on facebook or twitter they show them off on instagram and if you aren’t on it you miss out.

    • http://www.facebook.com/israel.lopez217 Israel Lopez

N9 is superior to N8, and the first lumia was based on the N9. Impossible that your old phone takes better photos.

      • Vasilis

The only phone which is superior to N8 regarding the camera is 808. They are superior to any other phone out there by a big margin. Please do some research.

        • http://www.facebook.com/iain.simpson.127 Iain Simpson

you really need to start checking your facts the N8 does not have a better camera than the 920, the only camera that beats the 920 right now is the 808 and even that does not take better low light photos than the 920, quit living in the past with your delusional N8.

        • http://www.facebook.com/israel.lopez217 Israel Lopez

I did my research, The photos are lacking in low light and in color saturation next to a Lumia 920, Galaxy S3 and iPhone 5. It is still pretty good for today’s standards, but it cant hold its own against those three phones and the 808.

          • Vasilis

It’s all about the sensor size, Lumias, iphones and Androids with 1/3” sensors cannot compete with the N8 which has a 1/1.7” sensor or the 808 with a 1/1.2” sensor. Plus the images of the 920 are oversaturated like the ones from iphones and Androids (ironically the latest iphone produces less saturated images than the previous ones), as opposed to the natural colours that come out from the N8 and the 808. A good camera is not one that takes pictures with oversaturated artificial colours but one that captures images that are as close as possible to what your eyes see. You probably don’t need a good camera, you just need an app like Instagram to impress people who are unfamiliar with photography.

    • http://www.facebook.com/jhonsm1614 Aimum Live

Have you ever used any of lumias ?
First use it camera of luma is far better than N8, you even can not think to compare both !
      Lumias are far far better.

      • Vasilis

I will not try to convince you, there is no meaning to do it. The comment was for the people in Nokia, who know their devices and understand very well what I say. I like Windows Phone but I will never choose a phone with a camera that is inferior to my previous one. We the owners of N8 and 808 wait for a phone with a proper sensor and optics. Now, not after a year or so.

    • http://www.facebook.com/iain.simpson.127 Iain Simpson

The 920 has THE best mobile camera in any phone on the market today.

      • Vasilis

Unfortunately it doesn’t. It excels only in low-light no-flash photography, because of the handheld long exposure it can achieve with the help of OIS (1/2 sec, compared to 1/5 sec for the N8). But in any other use case the N8 (and the 808 of course) beats it hands down. It’s physics after all. The N8 has a 3.5 times bigger sensor than the 920 (1/3” for the Lumia 920, 1/1.7” for the N8, 1/1.2” for the 808). And yes, size DOES matter. No image processing can compensate for the lack of a big sensor. Just compare the pictures of both at pixel level and you will see (although you need not, the difference is obvious even at normal views).
Having said that, the Lumia 920 has the best camera among Nokia’s Windows Phones. But it’s simply not for me, as I was somewhat spoiled by the N8′s camera performance and I really enjoy photography. I will stay with it until Nokia releases that rumoured real PureView Lumia. I hope it will be soon.

With the awesome “Metro” UI and that the Lumia920 has the best camera of any mobile device you have to wonder just how much hype and $ Facebook (i mean instagram) requires to finally get Instagram published on Windows phone. IG is sorely needed for a certain demographic who has smartphones and use the service instead of FB and might want to come to windows phone.

    • Silverspade92

So from what I understand this is a Nokia exclusive.
That’s cheap you guys! I’ve already bought a nokia as my new device but you’re undermining your message and alienating your supporters by limiting this app to your own userbase, rather than the WP userbase.

It seems you are going out of your way to get us these great apps but is MS doing the same? I really hope they are behind the scenes. With your phone quality and the drive to gain support for the WP platform you’ve gained a customer for life. Where Nokia goes I go from now on.

a fan of the company and all they stand for in this ios and andriod overdosed market. Glad a stuck with Nokia and am an owner of a 920; used to own an n8 but it was stolen :(. With that said, there is no hiding that 920′s camera faulters in normal light while being superb in dark to no light settings. Compared pics with an iPhone 3gs and the iphone’s pictures looked truer to life than my 920. A sad truth even when I tried messing with the settings.
