Tapping into the Windows Store, the Nokia Lumia 2520 is only a couple of thumb presses away from being loaded up with all your favourite apps.

Whether they’re essential for productivity, or just for entertainment, let’s show you what’s available.

Microsoft Office RT

For many, this is a staple part of any PC-experience. Thankfully, this is built-in and comes as standard on the Lumia 2520.

If you need to write a letter, update your CV, calculate your budget or create a glossy presentation, you can do it all using either Word, Excel, or PowerPoint.

The Nokia Lumia 2520 also comes with OneNote for fast note taking and Microsoft Outlook for sending and receiving emails.

All of this right out of the box!

Adobe Photoshop Express

Whether you take photos with the Lumia 2520′s 6.7-megapixel camera, or retrieve them from your SkyDrive or other online accounts, you may want to edit them from time to time.

Adobe Photoshop Express is useful for a variety of reasons. Crop and rotate, adjust colour, contrast and exposure levels, red eye reduction are all included with the basic free package, along with some photo effects such as Spring, Pastel, and B&W amongst others.

Additional features can be purchased within the app if you’re looking for something extra.

Skype

This is another basic for many households and you’ll probably find it impossible to find a modern PC where this isn’t installed.

Skype makes its possible to stay in touch with family members that may be overseas, friends across the other side of town, or for colleagues to discuss work-related matters during the day.

You can send instant messages, make voice or video calls, and share and receive photos and files from your Nokia Lumia 2520 – through a data connection.

LINE

If you like your messaging a little more fun and colourful, download LINE.

LINE gives you the tools to send instant messages, photos, videos and voice messages to any other LINE user. Add some ‘Stickers’ to your conversation to help convey your feelings in a fun way.

Over 3.3 billion people use LINE in over 231 countries, are you one of them?

TVCatchup

Staying up-to-date with the latest goings-on in your favourite TV shows is important to many people. If you’ve a regular viewer, you don’t want to miss a single episode.

That’s where TVCatchup comes in handy.

Rather than providing shows for a single National Television (UK) channel, it gives you access to a whole bunch of them.

The programmes that have been broadcast on BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5 and many more are all accessible via the interactive programme guide. This guide also shows you what’s coming up in the future, so you know what not to miss.

Kindle

When it comes to reading e-books, there’s one name that most people will recognise; Kindle.

Download the Kindle App onto your Nokia Lumia 2520, browse through a vast selection of e-books (currently about one million), make a purchase and use the 10.1-inch screen to click through the virtual pages.

Amazon’s Whispersync technology means that if you read a book on one device, you can pick up where you left off on another – providing the Kindle app is installed.

Nokia MixRadio

Nokia MixRadio’s main feature is to help you discover new music by way of curated playlists from the Nokia MixRadio Mixmasters.

Mixes are constantly added to suit a variety of musical tastes and you’ll always find something you’ll spend hours listening to.

If you prefer to download music, rather than stream, go ahead and search for an artist, album or song and download onto your device.

WinZip – free 15-day trial, with $7.99 annual subscription after

WinZip_Nokia-Lumia-2520

WinZip has been around for a long time; any PC user will be familiar with this.

Sometimes, sending a bunch of files across the Internet can be a challenge in terms of file size, let alone adding individual files to an email before pressing send.

With WinZip you can add a bunch of files together, create a ‘zip’ file that’s compressed (and therefore smaller in size), and password protect it with military-grade encryption.

Winzip supports SkyDrive, DropBox, Box, CloudMe and Google Drive storing, as well as sharing via email, Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter.

Facebook

Facebook_Nokia-Lumia-2520

We all want to stay connected with our friends and family, and Facebook is one great way to do it.

Update your status, upload a photo, or check in somewhere, just like you’d expect from a Facebook app.

Twitter

If you like your updates in bite-sized chunks, Twitter’s 140-character limit is perfect.

Follow friends, family members, celebrities and brands and interact with them in the form of tweets.

Fhotoroom

Fhotoroom_Nokia-Lumia-2520

If you like community photography apps, give Fhotoroom a try.

Some photos look great untouched, but some look fantastic when you’ve added a filter to two, or added a tip shift effect.

Share your creation with other Fhotoroom members and receive likes and comments, or share your image to Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, VK and more through the Charms bar.

There we have it, plenty of useful apps that you’ll either use everyday, a couple times a week or a few times a month. However, that’s just the tip of the iceberg; there’s more where they came from within the Windows Store. Explore it for yourself.
