STUTTGART, Germany – Last week’s Nokia World show brought with it a heap of new products, intriguing solutions and a deluge of fascinating comments and debate. Since NW09 we’ve received over 680 comments and trackbacks on stories we’ve run right here on Conversations. An overwhelming amount – we’re so pleased to be one of the homes to all your interesting and insightful opinions. So please keep them coming (which reminds me, we need to announce the comment of the week winner – as you can imagine, no easy task what with the mountain of comments last week, hence the delay folks).
Following all the exciting announcements last week and in the run up to Nokia World 09 we asked you to vote for your favourite product, and received a record number of votes – 2,670 of them. So continue reading to find out which new Nokia device got you voting in your droves.
STUTTGART, Germany – The first day of Nokia World 09 is a wrap and we’re stoked to have witnessed the arrival of the new Nokia N97 mini, alongside Nokia’s new entertainment focussed X6 and X3 phones. Plus, we’ve been treated to yet more details on the Nokia Booklet 3G and had an opportunity to get hands-on with it (watch Booklet 3G video) and its smaller Maemo-flavoured Nokia N900 cousin (watch N900 video). So with all these new Nokia products out in the wild, which is your favourite? Get your vote counted and as ever, get stuck in and share your thoughts. Bring on day two!
STUTTGART, Germany – The Nokia Conversations crew arrived in Stuttgart a couple days before Nokia World actually begun. With a little extra time on our hands, we thought we’d grab our cameras and take some behind the scenes footage of the Messe Center where Nokia World will be held – as well as a little video of downtown Stuttgart.
With just 48 hours before the event begins, it’s amazing how much setup still needs to be done. But with a professional crew on the scene, no doubt they have everything under control. It’ll be fascinating to see what this place looks like on Wednesday.
STUTTGART, Germany – Heyyy all! Just arrived to blue skies and +27C (80F) temperatures in beautiful Stuttgart. Finland just began getting chilly, so it’s nice to journey south and keep the summer spirits for a little while longer.
Just to let you know – I’ll be rockin’ the Nokia Conversations Twitter channel throughout the entire week, so be sure check in regularly for all the latest up-to-the-second news, updates, highlights and a little of my own personal commentary. Hope you’ll all enjoy!
And don’t forget to follow the #NW09 hashtag for all the Nokia World discussions from around the globe.

Over the coming week we’ll be selecting the best questions you suggest, ready to unleash them on our interviewees at Nokia World 09.

GLOBAL – Over the past few weeks we’ve run a series of polls asking you what the most important feature in a camera phone, web browsing device, and most recently, a music phone. This week we thought we’d dust off our thumbs and point them at mobile gaming devices.
Now, N-Gage is arguably the best gaming experience you can have on a Nokia device, with the most sophisticated service, best graphics, online connectivity, yada, yada. But what’s most important to you? And let’s not forget Java games that funnel fun into the palms of most people using mid to entry level devices.
Throw your hat in the ring and vote for what matters to you most!
GLOBAL – We wanted to find out what lies at the heart of a great music device, so over the past week we’ve been asking you to vote for the most important feature in a music phone. The poll doors have now firmly been shut (so don’t go clicking), and the votes have been counted. Read on to find out which feature tops the chart.
GLOBAL – Cloud computing is one of those hot topics that continues to generate heaps of interesting conversation, particularly as many of us have now begun to welcome it and experience what it can offer to our daily mobile lives. The subject again reared its fluffy head within the last seven days, in Charlie’s story entitled Of surveillance, gigalapses, and our trust in the Cloud.
This week’s winning comment was one of a number of smart and insightful points made around the topic of reliability and personal responsibility when it comes to storing our content on the cloud. It was a tough call, but the winning commenter topped the podium thanks to a sprinkle of poetic charm that wooed our scribbler side. Read on to find out who bagged this week’s comment of the week and has won a copy of Gravity, our favourite Twitter app for S60 devices.
