ESPOO, Finland – Things are moving on apace at The Symbian Foundation, as Shaun Puckrin, head of developer services at the Foundation told us this morning. ESPOO, Finland – You’d have to be hiding under a very large rock not to have heard about something “the cloud” recently. But it isn’t all about the cloud. Mary McDowell has kicked things off today by shining a light on how devices play an important part of bringing the cloud to life, and that not everything has to live in the cloud. Peer to peer activity is important too, specially when it comes to things like Nokia money, which will enable those without a bank account to send money to each other. Context is also important, getting information based on where you are, which helps filter through the myriad information we can be bombarded with.

ESPOO, Finland – This morning a charger exchange program started for a limited number of Nokia-branded chargers. If you have a charger type AC-3E, AC-3U or AC-4U you should visit the Nokia charger exchange website to find out how you can check whether yours needs to be replaced. The exchange program only applies to a restricted number of chargers manufactured over a short period, available in a select number of countries.
During a routine quality control process, Nokia identified a potential product quality issue with certain chargers manufactured by one of its third-party suppliers. The plastic covers of the affected chargers could come loose and separate, exposing the charger’s internal components and potentially posing an electrical shock hazard if certain internal components are touched while the charger is plugged into a live socket. Nokia is not aware of any incidents or injuries related to these chargers.
Only a limited number of chargers of certain model types manufactured by a single third-party supplier during a specific time period are within the scope of the exchange program. They are the AC-3E and AC-3U models, manufactured between June 15, 2009 and August 9, 2009; and the AC-4U model, manufactured between April 13, 2009 and October 25, 2009.
If you have one of the affected chargers, we suggest you stop using it and exchange it for a free replacement. You can find out if yours is eligible for replacement from the Nokia charger exchange website or your local Nokia website.

GLOBAL -Conversations is all about the Nokia community and so we wanted to highlight some of the cool stuff Nokia users are doing with their devices. Flickr plays host to an unimaginable amount of pictures, a good chunk of which were shot on Nokia devices. Every week we’ll be spotlighting a collection of pics shot on Nokia devices. This week it’s the turn of the Nokia N97. With Carl Zeiss optics, auto focus, dual LED flash and five megapixels it’s a well specced snapper. Hope you enjoy the shots, and don’t forget to click through and check out more from each photographer – we’ve included links to the full size shot on each one’s individual Flickr channel.

GLOBAL – This week a comment on our N-Gage moving to Ovi Store story sparked our brains into thinking about what else could fill the Ovi Store shelves. Right now we have apps, games, ringtones, wallpaper and videos kicking around, but what else could exist there? The comment in question raised the notion of it becoming a new home for Beta Labs. There are myriad reasons why that wouldn’t work (which we’ll cover below). As we’ve seen recently, improvements to the Ovi Store are coming thick and fast, and show no sign of abating. The team there are working 24/7 to whip things into shape and make the store the best place possible for as many users, and devices, as possible.
