GLOBAL – The evolution of applications on our devices has been quite rapid. The first step was of course giving the device extra functionality – the ability to watch certain types of video codecs, or view your messages in a different way. Then it got a bit more involved, bringing little bits of the Internet into your device one bit at a time, bringing things like Maps onto your device, along with info sucked from the Internet and combining it with functionality on the device (GPS) to create a whole new experience. Now though, I think we’ve reached a whole new level.

GLOBAL – Last week we brought you news of the new Nokia 6730. Now we’ve pulled together a collection of pics of the lovely new handset, available in stunning white or rather sleek black. There’s plenty to like about this tasty task-master, including its turn-by-turn navigation talents and its svelte frame. The 6730 is an S60 device, so can take advantage of the wide range of additional apps and content available through Ovi Store. The Vodafone version also comes with the Vodafone Music Client built in, access to personal and business email and of course the Internet. But, it’s the looks that’ll help this one stand out. BARCELONA, Spain – The Nokia E55 was announced this morning at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The newest in the Eseries range, the Nokia E55 sports a raft of new features and is the smallest Nokia messaging device. Sporting a compact QWERTY keyboard, the Nokia E55 includes a predictive engine that’ll suggest word completions, error completions and automatically learns new words. It also boasts full access to Email, Calendar and Contacts through direct access to Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Notes. Sound quality is also enhanced over previous Eseries devices with new noise cancellation technology. As if that wasn’t enough, the Nokia E55 offers almost one month of standby time.
