Comes With Music UK celebrates 1st birthday with free early bird extensions

CWM-birthdayENGLAND, UK – It’s hard to believe it’s been an entire year since Comes With Music debuted its all-you-can-eat download service on UK turf. But today marks exactly one year of active duty, during which time Comes With Music has fast matured into an invaluable music solution for many people (read more Comes With Music stories). Sure, it started with a lot of folk not really certain about what Comes With Music offered – in fact, here on Conversations in particular, we never shied away from the important education process that is needed in order to fathom that you can download and forever-keep as many tracks as you like – but the past 365 days have seen a much greater understanding and appreciation for the service emerge. Equally, it’s still evolving and getting improving (and becoming more widely available across the globe) and that’s perhaps the most exciting aspect of all. So, to celebrate its first birthday, if you were one of the first people to sign up to Comes With Music in the UK, Nokia is offering those early birds a free treat as a big thank you. Nokia Music going from strength to strength

Nokia-x6GLOBAL – Music played a big part at Nokia World last week. Not only were both the Nokia X6 and X3 big hits, but news that the latter would be a Comes with Music only device, helped solidify what would previously be considered a service and a product as simply a solution. The kind of solution that gives you as much space as you’d really need to store all the music that you’ve downloaded for free, but legally, through Comes with Music. We spoke to Jo Harlow, who’s involved in the launch of the Nokia X6 and X3 at Nokia. When we told her some of the initial reaction to the devices – one tech website suggested the X6 was the most beautiful Nokia device yet – she was over the moon. Understandably.

Nokia X6 launched

Nokia-X6-1STUTTGART, Germany – Music just got a whole lot more interesting, with the introduction of the Nokia X6. 3.2-inch touchscreen? Check. 32GB of storage? Check. 35 hours of music playback? You guessed it, that’ll be a check. Did we mention the blow-your-mind design? We’ve only just clapped eyes on the sleek and sexy X6 and already we can’t keep our peepers off it. At a touch under 14mm thin, it’s slim frame packs plenty of power and will leave music lovers in no doubt as to how they’ll be listening to music on the move when the device goes on sale this side of Xmas. What’s more, the Nokia X6 is a Comes with Music device which means you’ll be able to tune into as much all-you-can-hear music as you like without having to spend a penny extra.

A brief history of Nokia World

nokia_world_retroBOSTON, USANokia World 2009 is just around the corner. As the biggest Nokia event of the year, Nokia World has reflected the evolution of products and thinking at Nokia. So, we did some digging into the origins of Nokia World to see what was said (or not) over the years.

We found out that Nokia World has been around for a while (next week is the 14th), and the event always packs a wallop in terms of what gets put on display there. It has been the main venue to announce some big things for the company (we list a few). Even from its modest first event, the goal was to bring interested folks together to talk about new Nokia products that would (it was expected) shake the industry. But, as we discuss below, not all the big announcements happen at Nokia World.

The first 100 people to show up between midday and one o’clock at the flagship store tomorrow (GMT) will be able to get a 50 per cent discount on the normal price of £299.
