GLOBAL – The fusion of clothing and technology is nothing new (albeit niche), with some wearable tech enabling you to perform simple tasks such as flick through tracks on your MP3 player by pressing electronically-tailored buttons on your jacket. Now that’s and all well and good, but what about wearing a T-shirt that can act as a portal to your digital social networking world?
GLOBAL – Mobile phone chargers are often (and rightly) demonized for their vampirish juice-hungry habits, and the topic of exploring more eco and energy efficient solutions has been chatted about previously here on Conversations – way back in April, Charlie asked what if we all changed our chargers? Plus, around the same time we reported on Nokia’s prototype Zero Waste charger.

NEW DELHI, India – Today Nokia unveiled a stable of new handsets tailored to emerging markets, but it’s the 1202 that really stood out for me. It almost goes without saying that affordability is a key aspect for everyone in any country, but it’s a factor that’s amplified in poorer and more remote areas of India and Africa, so it was hugely encouraging to see the Nokia 1202 was announced bearing a price tag of just 25 Euros, making it the cheapest handset the company has ever launched.

LONDON, UK – The invisibility and seamlessness of mobile services and devices may be some way off , yet one of the key ingredients in bringing us closer to this vision of unconsciously intuitive mobile experiences is the rapid evolution of mobile broadband and bullet-speed over-the-air connectivity. But is this key ingredient ripe enough yet to step up and take centre stage on the road to the next-gen mobile world?
ROME, Italy – Earlier this week we brought you word on the winners of the Nokia Games Innovation Challenge, which saw a Ghostwire earn first place for it’s mould-breaking gameplay concepts, including action that see you use of your handset’s camera to augment reality and go ghost hunting in ‘real-life’.
LONDON, UK – A new report from the Mobile Data Association this week found that the amount of text and picture messages sent every day in the UK continues to grow. The number of SMS and MMS messages sent in the third quarter shot up by 20 per cent compared to the same period last year, with nearly 1.5million being sent every single day.
ROME, Italy – Earlier this week we brought you the full lowdown on the ten shortlisted developer finalists competing in the Nokia Games Innovation Challenge. The winners were announced at the Nokia Games Summit in Rome, with the most innovative game concept snatching the number one slot thanks to some clever camera tech trickery based on a principle dubbed Augmented Reality – an idea we reported on that’s currently also being explored at the Nokia Research Center.
