GLOBAL – Nokia’s new Ovi Store opened its doors for business a couple of days ago, and yesterday we rounded up a bunch of reactions from across the web related to the launch of this milestone download service.
Sure, it’s only little over 48 hours since the lights were switched on at the Ovi Store, but we know many of you are already beginning to dive in and download content. Let us know how you’re getting on, and how much content you’ve downloaded so far.

GLOBAL – Mosh is closing. Although this is news to some, it was actually announced back at Mobile World Congress, though in a less obvious form. This from the official press release at Mobile World Congress “The Ovi Store will consolidate the best experiences from the current content services including Download!, MOSH and WidSets to a single channel”. Mosh has been around for a couple of years now and by all accounts has been pretty successful. It was pretty revolutionary when it launched (still is, I reckon) in enabling users to create and share all sorts of content (it’s the all sorts, which seems to be exciting some people). The decision to take the best of Mosh, along with the best of Download! and WidSets and merge it all into one place is a solid one. Why maintain three or four services when you can get one to do the whole lot better.

GLOBAL – Comes With Music burst into the world screaming to the tune of millions of songs with unlimited downloads to keep, and is now maturing from a mildly misunderstood infant to a mature all-you-can-devour music download service in the UK. With this in mind Nokia has been working to cement rock solid foundations for rolling out Comes With Music across Europe, announcing new pan-European licensing deals with Universal Music Publishing Group, Sony/ATV Music Publishing and CELAS/EMI Music Publishing.
Read on for more info on the Comes With Music roll-out and to get the full lowdown on what the service is all about.

ESPOO, Finland – Download speeds, and how fast we can suck up data over the air via 3G and newer HSDPA technologies, has been a collective obsession in recent years. Well, in fairness we’re not interested in the technologies per se, but rather purely the fact that we’re now (in many territories) able to download complex webpages, soak up songs and receive bloated attachment-packed emails in seconds. So it’s fair to say that the incoming delivery service is humming, and we’re reaping the fruits. However, on the flip-side, the outgoing postal service and uploading in general has been less talked about and has yet to spark a flame of excitement.
But of course it should, and now is the time to fan the fire.

SAN FRANCISCO, USA – It’s long since been an alien or frowned-upon concept for us to consume reams of written words in digital format – be it lengthy blog posts or e-books (despite our growing appetite for bite-size mobile apps).

LONDON, UK – It seems that even when we have enough versions of some service or product, someone comes along to do the same or try to improve it. The latest two I found come from some big players, Google and Microsoft.

GLOBAL – There’s no shortage of function-extending applications that’ll help your Nokia do more than you thought possible. From the Download! application on your device, to Beta Labs, to third party providers, the list is as wide ranging as it is extensive. What’s more, they don’t face the same restrictions that some other device/app mixtures might. In a recent article on Forbes, writer Brian Caulfield highlighted this as a big plus point for Nokia.

STOCKHOLM, Sweden – Okay, the headline might be a little obtuse, but how could we write about a Swedish Music Store and not make some reference to the supergroup that was Abba. As you’ve probably worked out, the Nokia Music Store Sweden opened its doors this week.
