GLOBAL – The concept of ’social location gaming’ is reasonably simple, but this innovative twist to more traditional mobile gaming engagement promises to change the way we play games on the move and how we behave socially through mobile play. It’s an exciting area of development, and one that Nokia is keenly immersed in evolving. Nokia’s Director of Games, Jaako Kaidesoja, has written an interesting essay all about it, simply entitled ‘Location, location, location’. Earlier today I began picking out the highlights to run in this piece, but quickly realized that the it’s much better enjoyed in its entirety – there’s so much interesting stuff in there, it’d be a crime to put it under the editor’s knife.
His article addresses the ’social location’ buzzword and asks the questions of what it actually means for mobile games and the industry? Read on for the full-length essay on social location gaming from Nokia’s Director of Games.

GLOBAL – As the N-Gage platform gradually evolves, with more devices becoming compatible with the service (the N78 and 6210 navigator earned their N-Gage wings last week), it’s interesting to see an N-Gage game emerge that embraces non N-Gage handsets. The game in question, is a curious upcoming title called Yamake, and what particularly stands out about this cutesy game is that N-Gage players can share levels and aspects of the game with friends with S60 3rd edition devices that don’t support the N-Gage platform.
