ROME, Italy – It’s the Nokia Games Summit this week (29-30 October) in the Italian capital, and as well as marking the announcement the Mobile Games Innovation Challenge winners, it’s also the perfect excuse to gather all the leading minds in mobile gaming to show off and discuss the plans for the future of this fast-evolving fun-focussed field.

GLOBAL – One of the first, and most hotly anticipated games to roll out on Ngage was Creatures of the Deep. Born out of an idea producer Mike Smith had over 17 years ago, the game quickly nabbed critical and consumer acclaim.
Now the makers have sat down and produced a “making of” video, telling the Creatures story on the little screen.

GLOBAL – On witnessing the unveiling of the N79 earlier today, I was immediately intrigued by perhaps its most subtly elegant talent – when you dress it in a different coloured cover it automatically changes the on-screen theme to match. LISBON, Portugal – Some people get all the plumb jobs. Managing 1,000 people early morning in a Lisbon Square, the team behind a new N-Gage promo video had their work cut out. The video brings to life the most popular mobile game ever, snake. The 1,000 people who form the game are painstakingly photographed frame by frame before the images are stitched together to create a stop-start animation.

ESPOO, Finland – We’ve dug in deeper and we’ve been told a fix is in the works for the recent N-Gage games transfer situation. This is excellent news and although initially it looks like it may need to be serviced through Nokia Care (as an interim solution), there is a longer-term fix in the works.
