BOSTON, USA – A scan of the web keeps not only revealing new apps coming to Ovi Store (Shazam is one of the more recent biggies), but that whole new markets are showing up. Inside I have three sets of apps recently added to the Ovi Store that suggest that a nice range of choices is starting to evolve and emerge out of the pool.
I’ll then wrap up this post with a new Nokia tips and tricks site and a bonus – gripes.
LONDON, England – New lessons were learned in shooting and directing music videos recently when the video for the Noisettes new single ‘Saturday Night’ was shot using only Nokia devices. 64 Nokia N95 8GBs were attached to metal arms to create “The Transformer”, a multi-eyed video camera which captured much of the footage. 70 fans were also armed with Nokia devices to help capture the scenic stuff.

LONDON, England – Tomorrow will see the Nokia 5800 Comes with Music edition go on sale sim free in the Nokia Flagship store, Regent Street London. To celebrate, the folks at the store have come up with a nifty little initiative, to both let people know about the new offering, but also to encourage a bit of device recycling. The first 100 people to show up between midday and one o’clock at the flagship store tomorrow (GMT) will be able to get a 50 per cent discount on the normal price of £299. The only catch, you’ll need to recycle two old devices to get the discount (and be first in the queue).

LONDON, England – Nokia and Orange today announced the Nokia 5800 will be available with Comes with Music exclusively to Orange UK customers. With price plans starting from £25 per month, Orange will be the only UK network to offer the Nokia 5800 and Comes with Music package, starting from May 29. What’s more, the 5800 will be exclusively available in black and silver.

SAO PAULO, Brazil -The Nokia 5800, with Comes With Music close in tow, has grown into something bigger than perhaps anyone could imagine it would have become, with already over 3 million sold (and could possibly become the most popular device in Nokia’s history as OPK explained last week). Today marks another milestone, as the 5800 Comes With Music has now officially set foot of the sandy shores of Brazil.
We took stock of the achievements of Comes With Music last month (read more), a service that has become inextricably linked to the poster-child 5800 (though by no means exclusively, with CWM available on the N95 8GB and other XpressMusic devices). And it’s no secret that here on Conversations we’re fans of the service, so we’re really pleased to see it hit the home of samba – both Charlie and I are half Brazilian, which sort of makes the Conversations team a quarter Brazilian! GLOBAL – Yes, that’s right folks, the 5800 might have just landed in the UK, and is yet to see American shores but already 1 million units have been shipped. The device, launched last October, has actually only been on sale since December in Spain, Russia and Hong Kong. Today saw the popular launch of the Nokia 5800 in the UK, with hundreds flocking to the Nokia Flagship Store on Regent Street to be amongst the first in the UK to have the handset.
LONDON, England – Hundreds turned out on London’s Regent Street this morning to be the first to buy the new Nokia 5800. Guy Browne, from Waterloo, was the first in the queue, having had his place saved by friends, who’d queued since midnight last night. Guy arrived three hours before the doors opened at 8am and was the first one out the door with a 5800 in his hand. Guy said of the device “It’s good value for money” and “I like my electronics”.
