GLOBAL – Music played a big part at Nokia World last week. Not only were both the Nokia X6 and X3 big hits, but news that the latter would be a Comes with Music only device, helped solidify what would previously be considered a service and a product as simply a solution. The kind of solution that gives you as much space as you’d really need to store all the music that you’ve downloaded for free, but legally, through Comes with Music. We spoke to Jo Harlow, who’s involved in the launch of the Nokia X6 and X3 at Nokia. When we told her some of the initial reaction to the devices – one tech website suggested the X6 was the most beautiful Nokia device yet – she was over the moon. Understandably. Continue reading>>

GLOBAL – It’s that time of the week again folks, where we roll out the questions and you wade in with the answers. The responses to our previous “what is the most important feature” polls have been truly astounding. Not only have we had thousands of votes, but a lot of brilliant feedback too. Please, keep the responses coming (and remember we’re still running our comment of the week compo). This week though is all about music phones. Nokia makes plenty of them, but what are the features that are most important in a music phone? Good speakers would seem to be important, but only to those who don’t listen on a headset. An amp then, might be more important, or the headphones themselves or connectivity such as Bluetooth. Only you can tell what’s most important to you, so please, let us know in the poll below. If your priority isn’t listed, feel free to add into “other”.
ESPOO, Finland – Today sees the arrival of a new type of game on N-Gage. Dance Fabulous combines gaming with music to create a new experience for users. The idea of the game is to score points by creating new moves to music for your on-screen avatar. What makes this one unique though, is that users can use any music stored on their device to play the game. Users can also download more music from the Nokia Music Store (great for Comes with Music users) so they can continue to get more out of the game. Continue reading>>
LONDON, England – That’s how Tero described the process of getting started with Comes With Music. When you buy your device, you’ll get a voucher in the box. Enter the voucher code into the Nokia Music Store and the prices literally disappear. Nice touch, I think.
LONDON, England - Tero’s back on stage now, telling us about the various Music offerings on the software front. The Nokia Music Store and now Nokia Music for PC. How it manages your music, syncs your playlist and the like.
LONDON, England – We’re coming to you live from the REMIX event in London’s Koko club, where Nokia is revealing its latest music offering. New devices and the official launch of Comes With Music are the main players today.
LONDON, England – Jo Harlow has just revealed the ‘Tube’ from her pocket. Following some banter from Tero, about the Tube (the London Underground). She hasn’t given the name yet, but no doubt we’ll be treated to that shortly.
SPAIN – With more than 70 per cent of the music purchased in the country being local, the addition of the Nokia Music Store for Spanish music fans should be something of a boon, given many of the 4 million tracks on offer come from local artists.
