GLOBAL – Nokia Point and Find landed in the UK and USA early last month, and now the folks at Betalabs have put together a neat video highlighting the key features. If you haven’t heard about Point and Find before, it’s a new service that enables you to get up to date info about a product or service, on your phone. Right now info on movies are available, but more products and services will be added over time.

San Francisco, USA – Nokia has been having a good time at the Web 2.0 Expo. The booth has been busy with folks asking questions about the Ovi Store, Ovi Maps, and Point and Find. We’ve been busy on stage, as well: Tero Ojanperä gave a talk on Wednesday and Anssi Vanjoki gave a keynote on Thursday.
Not to be lulled by the usual Expo action, Nokia decided to organize a scavenger hunt for the journalists and bloggers we know who are at the show. Orchestrating this madness is none other than Molly Schonthal, from the same communications team as the Nokia Conversations team.

USA and ENGLAND – The wait is over folks, it’s time to get your hands on Point and Find. The app is available now to users in the UK and USA. This first beta version will recognise barcodes and cinema posters, offering up more than we originally expected. Scan a barcode to get more product info, and in time, the best prices on a product. Movie posters will throw up the option to view a trailer and in some parts even the ability to book tickets.

ESPOO, Finland - The astute amongst you will remember Point and Find from last year’s The Way We Live Next conference. Well, it’s just been revealed that it’ll be seeing the light of day some time soon, in the form of a beta app. We’re pretty excited about this, as full evidence of what we’re seeing as an idea in NRC becoming a real life business.
