My three favourite Nokia devices. Ever. part 2

GLOBAL – I’ve had too many Nokia devices to even count…one of the perks from working at Nokia for seven years. It seems that every new device in my hands instantly becomes “the best ever!” – until three months later when I receive a new device and the “old” one is relegated to a drawer somewhere. So naturally, choosing my favourite Nokias ever took some serious thinking and internal debating, but three definitely stand out in my mind…

Nokia N900 and Maemo

ESPOO, Finland – Maemo might seem like a new branch for Nokia, but it’s easy to forget it’s actually a project the company has been involved in for the last four years. Peter Schneider, head of technology marketing for Maemo devices at Nokia, underlined the point (several times) when he talked us through the latest happenings on Maemo this morning. Much of Peter’s talk was on the open source nature at the core of project and how the community of developers offers rapid and powerful solutions to common problems.

Nokia N900 begins shipping!

GLOBAL – Today sees the first batch of Nokia N900 handsets boxed up and shipped out on their maiden voyage into wild. The N900 has been the most discussed device we’ve ever reported on here at Conversations, so many of you are sure to be stoked to discover that the Maemo 5 device will be touching down in Europe, the Middle-East, Russia and North America shortly.
