ESPOO, Finland – I was at a great seminar the other day by one of our executives who has long been in the phone business. He had a great story in response to the usual questions of ‘when is Nokia coming out with <insert latest tech craze here>?’.
ESPOO, Finland – Opening the second annual ‘The Way We Live Next’ conference at Nokia HQ in Espoo, chief technology officer Bob Iannucci gives an insight into ‘Agenda 2015′ – what Nokia thinks the world will be like seven years from now.
Iannucci talks about the eight areas of focus for research in Agenda 2015 and how the research is actually being carried out.
GLOBAL – According to technology marketing manager Ross Lamont, the new
Nokia Legends campaign is all about innovation. See, Nokia is all about innovation, whether its in a device, some software or a service. Behind every great innovation sits an army of engineers, scientists, designers and researchers. And each one has its own story. But how can those stories be told? Step forward Nokia Legends.
GLOBAL – Today sees a brand new campaign kick off telling the story of some rather interesting Nokia Legends. Designed to show off Nokia’s technology leadership credentials, eight videos form the campaigns backbone, each exploring technology that’s about to come out, due out in the next year or two or is simply an interesting piece of research. The idea is pretty straightforward, show how real some stuff that might seem unreal actually is. And, tell those technology’s stories. This goes well beyond acronyms and stats, planting new technology right into the palms of regular folks.
ESPOO, Finland – I’ve not been able to do a link round up in the past few days. Did you notice? Do you like these round-ups?
In any case, I managed to get online today for a quick fix of info from around the neighborhood. I’m in a punchy mood, so certain things stood out. What I have for you today is a Retro Phone, a Car Phone, an Open Phone, and a Journo Phone. Intrigued? Then read on.
ESPOO, Finland – Switching from a hardware manufacturer to one that doesn’t just “do” software and services, but leads the way with them, takes some doing. Rapid innovation, constant reinvention and a fearless quest for the future all sound good, but what’s the reality like?
ESPOO, Finland - When it comes to search, the likes of Google, Microsoft and Yahoo! are friends, not foe, of Nokia. The services complement what Nokia offers, rather than competes against it. Not because Nokia doesn’t think finding stuff is important, but because what and how you find using your Nokia is totally different. Moconews.net recently caught up with Nokia’s head of search Jussi-Pekka Partanen who talked openly about this and other search related issues. It’s well worth a read, and we’ve picked out a few of the choice bits here.
