GLOBAL – This week sees the roll out of an S60 5th edition of the mobile YouTube app. I’ve used this app on my E71 previously and it’s a great way of dipping into the curious world of YouTube video (BTW, have you seen our recent efforts?). Rolling it out on the 5800 XpressMusic and N97 is a boon for owners of those devices. I’ve just installed the app on my N97 and it works a treat, is brilliantly quick (over WiFi) and swiping through videos works great.

GLOBAL – As I’m sure many of you are aware today marks 40 years since man first kicked up dust on the surface of the moon. But what if the moon landings had taken place today, documented and shared in a digital-savvy culture where Twitter and online distribution tools are cemented in our everyday lives and informal info gathering routines?
ESPOO, Finland – Every so often it’s good to put out a wee administrative message about who we are, what our goals are, and how to follow us. And, yes, this is one of them, about some ways to follow what we produce here at Nokia Conversations.
As you should be aware by now, we have a few different streams you can follow. We have video, presentations, bookmarks, and, of course, this site. We’re doing our best to fill the streams and interact with everyone who participates in those streams.
Below, I’ve listed some of the newer streams, particularly highlighting some we haven’t properly promoted yet. So, read on and see if you’ve missed any.
GLOBAL – It only popped out the other day, but I’ve just been playing with the new YouTube app for S60 and have to say, I’m mightily impressed. Slick user interface, new approach to scrolling through vids (sideways, instead of down) nice use of AJAX-style transitions and an all round top experience.
BARCELONA, Spain – I just want to remind everyone that Nokia World 2008 is coming, 2-3 December, next week. James and I will be there to bring you stories from the show floor. Carita and Mike will be back home making sure everything runs smoothly.
ESPOO, Finland – Power and pictures dominate today’s post. I’ll tell you about some cool videos you can watch and some that you can’t (cause they aren’t made yet). I’ll also point you to a good primer on on-the-go power. I tail off this post with some oddities.

INTERNATIONAL – Mobile life, whether collaborating, sharing or social networking can’t help but feel fragmented. We’re constantly compartmentalizing our mobile media existences and aren’t used to the concept of throwing our virtual eggs all into one basket. Well at least that’s how I find myself behaving, collecting bite-size services, be it Flickr, YouTube, FaceBook, and then let them all loosely live side-by-side in happy disharmony. So where does Ovi fit into things, with it’s one big basket approach?
INTERNATIONAL – Back in April the team over on the See Into S60 blog launched a video contest, dubbed Show your S60 Smarts. The idea? Simply to find the best stories for why many of us love certain S60 apps, and how they become an intrinsic part of our day-to-day. The response was awesome, with heaps of creative short videos uploaded to the Show your S60 Smarts group on YouTube. You’ll notice one of the winning vids in the top right-hand side of our site in ‘video of the day’.
There are many ways to keep up with what’s happening at Nokia Conversations.
